Doh!

I'd be kicking myself. That Slane gig is one of the highlights of their career, and their best live release. Streets, One, Walk On, Until the End of the World, Mysterious Ways, and many others are just fantastic. Better than the Boston Elevation DVD in my opinion.

And I think I will be picking up the 2-CD Achtung Baby reissue with the disc of demos. It's also remastered!

I was 15 and had no money :( I saw RHCP and QOTSA there the next summer.. amazing concert.

Has anyone seen the new documentary yet? It's brilliant and will make you an even bigger fan.

I've seen that DVD, too. Slane Castle seems to be an awesome place to see a gig.

And I did see the documentary. It's pretty great, I love hearing what became one of the greatest albums of all time. I got a kick out of the part where they listen to a live version of The Fly, and Bono says "Was that actually played to human beings?"

I never knew Bono had so much musical input into the band until I saw the documentary. He really does dictate everything, but in a good none CEO type of way *nudge nudge ;)

Never been a U2 fan myself, either. If I remember correctly, the song you mentioned was actually a cover song they did for the Batman soundtrack. Another one I think actually rocked was "When Love Came To Town".

I donīt mean they wouldnīt have had their moments, of course. But during the last 25 years, Iīve heard far too many times how "U2 is art, Bon Jovi is commercial recycled crap". I strongly disagree.

Not a cover, U2 wrote that. Originated during the Zooropa sessions.

Ok, I didnīt know that. I like the song.

For anybody who thinks Bono's voice sucks lately, I've noticed that it's been WAAAAAAY better in 2011 than it was in 2009. The Glastonbury show blows the Rose Bowl DVD out of the water, IMO.

I dunno what the deal is with Slane, some sorta magic....both the U2 dvd and the RHCP one are absolute gems. I can't even say how many times ive watched them both. They're both mashed up and look like ass, cause ive watched them so many times and carried them with me everywhere.

I still think Bono can belt out notes actually, seen them in 2005 and 2009 (which was their last sweden gig) and I'd not skip a gig if they came back. I really appreciate the fact that the shows dont seem overly manuscripted, even tho I obv think it must have been way better and more magical 15 years ago. Isnt that usually the case like.

A few of the later albums have many tracks that are a bit meh and that id skip. A man and a woman, crumbs from your table, get on your boots etc are completely boring and not exciting in the slightest, but theres gems like miracle drug and city of blinding lights and later on moment of surrender, that id count as up there with the best. When moment of surrender came on as the last song of the 2009 concert I properly cried like a baby.

Overall I love u2, even tho almost every album obv has songs that I skip and dont care for. So do most Jovi albums, and most albums out there in gerenal so yea, thats just the way it is.
The live shows ive been to havent showed much weakness tbh.
