First laps of the Abu Dhabi circuit
That pit lane exit looks like the only interesting thing. Although it is like a car park exit.

I hope this race is more exciting than the track looks.

Mike 10-26-2009 02:21 AM

Brazil was an awesome race - best race I've seen since Spa last year. Lewis was awesome (as always). Congratulations to Jenson - deserved it in the end. Next year is shaping up to be a mouthwatering season!!

Peterson 10-29-2009 08:44 PM

Kimi has apparantly said that his only option of staying in F1 is McLaren. If not he'll walk away.

Irishshin 10-29-2009 09:48 PM

:( yeah I read that
Hope he goes rallying :)

Really don't like McClaren!

He's a good driver, so i'd rather see him at McLaren than walk away. But I can't see the Hamilton - Raikkonen partnership working too well unless Martin Whitmarsh can keep a happy balance. But that will be very difficult considering they'll both want a proper shot at the title and will want the help from the other driver instead of racing against them.

On the plus side though, it would be one hell of a battle between McLaren and Ferrari. Probably 4 of the best drivers in the sport in those 2 teams!

The plus side will def be great :D
But so not sure bout the Hamilton partnership
He has been number one for so long

Bruno Senna just signed for the Campos Racing. Interesting...

Very interesting

Peterson 11-01-2009 01:27 PM

Oh well, I guess F1 will be over for 2009 in a few hours, gonna miss it :(

Have to say though, that Abu Dhabi track looks awsome! Especially when everything is lit up. Can't wait to see what happens with the pit lane exit, should be fun!

Irishshin 11-01-2009 10:44 PM

Abu Dhabi def looked an amazing track
But that race was so boring.
Last two laps between Webber & Button were great
Only other interesting bit was Alguersuari going into the wrong pit box.
So glad Interlagos is the last race next year.

Only 133 days to Bahrain :D

Woooo only 133 days lol. Did you actually sit and work it out? Seems like something i'd do lol!

It was a boring race though, such a shame. Gutted Button didn't snatch that 2nd place! He was inches away from it.

Also gutted for Lewis, never mind though.

Lol nope, they said it on the BBC and its up on autosport already lol :D

I know it was a shame cos the track looked so welll.
I wanna stay in the hotel too lol
Am glad Webber got second. Nice to see Button on the podium though

I suppose we still have all the driver line ups to look forward to. Only have Ferrari, Red Bull, 1 McClaren, 1 Campos & 1 Renault so far. AS well as a crap load of rumours lol. I think Kobayashi will get Toyota and Rubens will hopefully go to Williams.

Peterson 11-02-2009 10:44 PM

Thats Rubens Barichello and Nico Hulkenberg been confirmed for Williams in 2010.

lol, I switched my tv off right away after the race finished cos I had to finish painting my bedroom, but watched the rest of the show( had it recorded) later at night after i'd posted ;)

Have to agree with you about Kobayashi, probably the best rookie driver of the season!

Irishshin 11-02-2009 11:11 PM

Glad Rubens is off to Williams
He will finally be a number one driver again after all these years.
I hope so much Williams give him a good car.

SmirkSteve 11-04-2009 12:34 PM

That's Toyota out of F1 now - I hear Trulli has photos to prove it was Sutil's fault :D

Bad news that a long standing race team is out but the grid was looking like it was going to be a bit cluttered. Shame for Kobayashi who just 48 hours ago had been confirmed as the second driver and now the team has pulled out.

What with Bridgestone also pulling out of F1 after the 2010 season it's all change at the moment!

Can't say this news is a surprise. Toyota haven't really been too much of a competetive team. Makes sense for them to pull out instead of wasting more money.

Shame for Kobayashi though, hopefully someone will sign him up!

SmirkSteve 11-04-2009 07:20 PM

The latest news is that Renault are having an emergency board meeting to talk about pulling out of F1 themselves.

If this does happen I could see Robert Kubica as a 2nd driver option for McLaren if Raikkonen decides he still wants to be paid twice as much as Hamilton. At least Kubica is and Hamilton get on.

Where you reading this? Any chance you could link me up?

Edit: just saw it on the BBC F1 website.

Irishshin 11-05-2009 11:11 PM

Not looking the best for Renault either

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80031

That one is not so surprising.
Still will be sad to see another team go if they do.

Maybe they are waiting to see if they can get more sponsors.

Jim Bon Jovi 11-06-2009 12:30 AM

as much as i find f1 boring it looks like i might be heading to the bahrain gp next year :)

I think anyone would enjoy going to a race even if they weren't a fan of the sport, the atmosphere would be phenomenal!

One day......

Peterson 11-13-2009 12:01 AM

Was delivering stuff from my work to the Johnnie Walker bottleing plant in Kilmarnock today, found out the Lewis Hamilton was there recently! Gutted I missed him!

SmirkSteve 11-16-2009 03:56 PM

Interesting morning so far...

- Mercedes buy 75% of Brawn GP
- McLaren buy back the 40% share of the team from Mercedes
- McLaren announce Mercedes engie deal will run to 2015, and possibly longer
- Rosberg and Heidfeld rumoured to be signing to Brawn GP
- Button to McLaren and Raikkonen on Sabbatical - more speculative rumours

Off season is getting exciting!

Irishshin 11-16-2009 08:04 PM

Very interesting news. I wonder why Ross let it happen.
Maybe he knows something we all don't!

Hope Kimi gets a drive.
Can't see him coming back if he doesn't

Would love to see Heidfeld in the Brawn or should I say the Mercedes!

UKjovi 11-17-2009 09:14 AM

Maybe Merc made Ross an offer he couldn't refuse?

SmirkSteve 11-17-2009 09:49 AM

There's no way Ross could have continued without major financing and they did talk of having a big money backer, maybe it was Mercedes all along.

Big mistake for Mercedes GP if they do have a Heidfeld/Rosberg driving team - that's a lot of underachieving in one team.

Peterson 11-17-2009 07:02 PM

Thats Button signed a 3 year/£18 million deal with McLaren. (Edit: seems he's still to sign on the dotted line....)

Also, Glock has apparantly signed up to drive for Manor GP.

Rosberg is hardly underachieving, without him Williams would've had 0 points. He's an excellent driver, but he has had one of the worst cars in the series. Love to see what he does next year.

According to the Finnish press, there's still a chance for Kimi to go to Mercedes.

Ice

Irishshin 11-17-2009 07:40 PM

Heldfied is a good driver too.
He had the longest time with no finishes until he tangled with Glock earlier this year.

I really want Kimi driving in F1 next year.
I honestly don't think he will be at Mercedes GP. They were only offering button 4 million.
Can't see them paying Kimi what he wants.
Wouldn't mind seeing him in the car though.

Irishshin 11-18-2009 11:11 AM

Kinda knew this would happen but still gutted :(

Kimi out next year

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80187

Irishshin 11-18-2009 08:00 PM

So its now official. Button has signed to McClaren

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80197

I think its a bad move for Button.

To be fair, he was being a total cunt about money etc. Fair enough he'd want a competetive car, but most of this season it looked like he couldn't give a toss. Teams aint gonna pay big bucks for that IMO.

I think he should have approached one of the smaller new teams and agreed to drive for them, share his experience with them etc and give them a bit of a boost. Michael Schumacher he is not, but I am sure these new teams would love to have his help and experience.

Or it could be his best move ever ;)

Either way he'd be driving for Mercedes.

I'm sure it's still a rumour, but this is a quite reliable source in Brazil.
