I just want to see if he's 'still got it'. Just hope Ross Brawn et al can produce another belter of a car!

UKjovi 12-20-2009 12:13 PM

I wonder if he will regret it this time next year?

Peterson 12-22-2009 01:17 AM

I wonder what's happening with USF1...

Been awfully quiet from them, no friver line ups etc.

well, apparently he would have come back for ferrari but they didn't offer him a contract. I still think he is the best driver the F1 has ever seen and he will kick ass with Mercedes, but if I was him, I would have picked a different sport.

Without a doubt hes the best driver, however its been a wahile since he has raced with the rest of them and i really dont want to see him lose. As you say Mercedes is not the best choice.

Peterson 12-23-2009 02:03 PM

It's official!

Schumacher is back! Signed a one year deal with Mercedes GP.

Worth sticking money on for the world title folks? William Hill are offering 6/1

on planetf1.com homepage it said 3 year deal, then when you clicked on the article it said it was a 1 yeas deal.

Then autosport.com says 3 year deal.....

Strange. 1 year would make more sense since there is the possibiltiy his 'comback' could go tits up, then he's still tied in for another 3 years.

Irishshin 12-23-2009 09:43 PM

Interesting autosport saying 3 year. Have heard one year with possibilty of more.
I can't see him winning the title and wouldn't bet on it!

Not with Alonso in the Ferrari, the two in the McClarens (although I'd say they will be having a fight of their own!) and Vettel in the Red Bull. Plus his own team mate in the Mercedes.

UKjovi 12-24-2009 01:01 PM

I heard its a 1 year deal, however if it proves to be a success he will race for a further 2 years.

That makes sense. Can't imagine it'll go too badly for him though!

You are omitting a big point here. He is teaming up with THE BRAIN BRAWN. That's the dream-team of the Formula 1. It just feels bad seeing the two at Mercedes. Any other team would have been fine...but MERCEDES?!?!?! Just NO. I guess that's how Barcelona fans must have felt when they saw Louis Figo play for Real Madrid...

The thing about him teaming up with Brawn again might not go to plan as it used to.

At the start of '09 Both McLaren and Ferrari had shite cars, due to the fact that they had put so much work into fighting for the '08 championship that the development for the '09 car was put on hold for a lot of the time.

Same might be the case for the Mercedes GP car, Brawn were fighting for the championship at the end of '09, so the '10 car might not be as good as it could have been.

Peterson 12-30-2009 04:32 AM

Apparantly Ralf Schumacher has been in talks with 4 teams about returning to F1. He won't say which teams, but there has been rumours of him getting the second seat at Toro Rosso.

Irishshin 12-30-2009 06:27 PM

Wow really!!! I thought Torro Rosso confirmed Buemi & Alguersauri .

Algersuari confirmed himself as the second driver, but the team denied it and have still to make comment.

Was never that fussed by Ralf when he was in F1, can't help but think he only got in cos of his name ;)

Would love to see Montoya back though!

Irishshin 12-30-2009 07:28 PM

Ah interesting. I dont really think Alguersauri was all that good but then again he had no testing in the car. I don't think Ralf should come back at all. He wasn't the best.

Now would love to have Montoya back.
Can't see it happening though.

Am worried that Nick Heldfield won't be there next year either! No news about him at all.

UKjovi 12-31-2009 11:27 AM

Great news for Jenson :D

Flavio's lifetime ban has been overturned! Seems to have just happened as can't find any other info, just the headline at the moment!

Once a cheat, always a cheat. I very much doubt he'll get a job with any existing F1 team.

Leaving him the only option to set up his own team, byt then he'll probably struggle for an engine supplier/ sponsorship etc.

Irishshin 01-05-2010 09:37 PM

That is a better idea

Maybe we should do that.....

Its terrible that cheat is back. A ban should mean a ban. Oh well

Apparantly the FIA are appealing against it.

And now Flavio wants to take Piquet to court......

It's far from over.

Irishshin 01-06-2010 09:12 PM

This is all too confusing

Flav should just leave it alone now
He & Symonds cheated it was proved.
Its horrible and I don't see why anyone would want to work with them again.

Just realised something.....

Briatore and Symonds have had their BANS lifted. They were still found guilty of race fixing.

So surely they are due some sort of punishment by the FIA.....

Irishshin 01-06-2010 11:11 PM

Woo! First dates for launch

Sauber will launch their car on Jan 31st
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80748

Just wish they would announce Heidfeld too
I wanna see him on the grid next year.
Seen he has been offered the reserve driver for Mercedes
Hope he doesn't take this!!!!

Could be a smart move if he did take it....

there's ound to be problems between Schumi and Rosbarg, one may opt to move to another team for 2011 leaving an empty race seat for Heidfeld to take.

Just a thought ;)
