Oh yeah

I'll either be home on the 2nd Thursday (hopefully) or the Friday (most probably) of July. That Friday night will be a disaster. The Saturday will be the same.

All going to plan I'll be heading to Belfast on the Sunday with my brother and parents for a trainwreck

Lads weekend away to Newcastle either the next weekend or the weekend after and there's plans afoot for my best pals here to do a week in the UK with me bouncing around with them then me doing a week in Romania with them.

It means I pretty much need to get my arse in shape for the 3 peaks challenge before I got home because I'm not going to be doing much of anything except reacquainting myself with what JS Mill called the "lower pleasures" between getting home and attempting it on the 14th of August :D

My pishy beard seems to be working its magic too. I uploaded a couple of photos onto an online dating site (as one does when they're due to escape a country where technically talking to women is illegal :o ) and Ive had half a dozen or so girls message me and 4 of them are pretty fit (one is stunning. another is an 8/9) 3 are nice and only one I'm not interested in :D

It's going to be a glorious summer.

Jim Bon Jovi 05-05-2010 02:39 PM

yay for saudi friday.

my 9th last one :D

I actually feel like a wean waiting for christmas just now. it's great.

C'monFeet 05-09-2010 12:58 AM

Back in to The World today. Two firsts - my first Roller Derby practice - went with intentions of just helping out, learning to become a non-skating official, left really energized and all "I am so learning to skate". This will be good for me, not unrealistic to see me as a referee in a year or so. All very cool, down to earth people.

Then I watched Britains Got Talent for the first time. Bill Hicks was underestimating it severely when he said that kind of show made him Pray for Nuclear Holocaust. Honestly, talk about feeding people shit.

Week off work next week, so yay.

Good for you - I learned to skate at 4 years old and I'm still skating. It's just something I love to do.

Jim Bon Jovi 05-12-2010 02:57 PM

my 8th last Saudi Friday and I'm rocking through to Bahrain in half an hour.

Our exit visa run out (yeah this place is so shitty you need to apply for a visa to leave...) next week so we're all going through for that /. a pals birthday.

Not enough room in the usual cars so someone asked me: "would you mind going through a day early with brett and just meeting us on thursday?"

Ummm ok.:o

Just got a call from Brett (who's pretty much my brother in arms as far as debauchery goes out here) Hey man is it ok if we shoot off an hour early today?

**** A MAN LET'S RIDE!!!

Suppose I should pack since we're off in half an hour now :D

C'monFeet 05-14-2010 02:09 PM

I'm a day into a slightly unusual trip to London - no C., two of my very good friends have left for Australia, I'm meeting a couple of new people. All good and independent.

Drinks tonight. Checking out my best friend's wedding venue tomorrow - when I volunteered to make a speech, i hadn't quite pictured the reality of 150 guests.

Tomorrow night back home, seeing The Wonderstuff (my hometown's finest band - ) at Dudley JB's - *awesome* local rock club. Just love the atmosphere there. Will most likely be the kind of gig where I end up hugging complete strangers in the moshppit.

RichieW2001 05-14-2010 06:41 PM

It's our office's Spring Ball tonight, so the tux has been dusted off and the dress scarf is ironed and ready to go.

It's at a really nice venue this year - Manchester Monastery - so looking forward to it.

Jim Bon Jovi 05-14-2010 07:49 PM

I ****ing love Bahrain.

My god there was beer, chilli, playstation 3, john travolta films, creedence tunes, chinese hookers and absolutely no remorse whatsoever :D:D

I'm going to miss that little island.

Jim Bon Jovi 05-14-2010 08:42 PM

right im away for a swim.

After a weekend in Bahrain i always feel like I need to be rebaptised :D

Does anyone remember when allwyn lived there and he said there was nothing to do? Dude is crazy man.

asok80 05-14-2010 10:45 PM

Great Friday! Holiday yesterday here so we've got today off as well. Took 2 hour walk on the waterfront today. Beautiful! Meeting up with my bro and his Mexican girlfriend tomorrow for birthday dinner.

C'monFeet 05-22-2010 02:59 PM

Pushing an 18 month old boy on a swing is an excellent way to recover from Tonsilitis - obviously we didn't spend the whole Friday doing that, but lovely relaxing day with a friend's familiy yesterday.

Have been debating with myself whether or not I'm fit to go to London for the Tea Party, but it's too nice a day to spend around the house.

Booked my NYC flight this morning. Time to start planning, arranging meets and getting excited. And listening to Zevon.

And then I'm gonna wake up Monday morning, download the finale of Lost and life won't quite be the same again.

Bank holiday weekend. The greatest thing sice sliced bread.

I will be mostly recovering from a hard weeks work. :)

Jim Bon Jovi 06-04-2010 11:41 AM

Being Friday in the civilised part of the world it means it's Saudi Sunday here.

I'll be home this time in 5 weeks :D

Went to a few parties last night. Being the only guy at work who makes illicit liquids I was very popular but it's a bit annoying when you're expected to provide enough for 20+ people.

Today I'm goign to go for lunch, read some more of my book on the history of the Sicillian mafia, go for a swim and then maybe polish off the rest of the illicit liquids that I squirelled away for myself :)

Kathleen 06-04-2010 03:26 PM

Not too much goin' on tonight but tomorrow night is the album premier for Southside Johnny's new album at BB Kings. I'm looking forward to it.

C'monFeet 06-04-2010 04:00 PM

How the hell have I never posted this joyful, wonderful song here?

An afternoon in the kitchen, playing piano, stealing loving glances at my new skates (I say this like I owned an old pair ever).

Tomorrow I have my first Roller Derby practice on skates then a day's sobriety and reflection and just being. My life has changed a lot the last couple of months. I could do with appreciating this.

Sunday will have lunch and a carboot, maybe squash...

Things actually starting to feel normal again.

Goldsausage 06-04-2010 10:42 PM

Today was nice. Nothing exciting, just nice.

Girl I like (who doesn't like me back :() text me towards the end of the academic day today to ask to keep her company. Third time she's asked me to meet up with her this week. Met her twin sister today too.

Then after my 2 hour journey home, I came across my best mate wondering around in my town with his girlfriend. I had never met his girlfriend before but he hyped me up to her and she's been wanting to meet me. I hope I lived up to her expectations - I made her laugh a lot, so I guess that's good. Nice girl who's really pretty too, no idea how my mate charmed her.

Also, the same mate today also told me that last week his mum said to him "I wish your sister would dump Dan and date Oliver. He's such a nice lad". I have no attraction to his sister whatsoever, but I really appreciated the compliment (can you even date your best mate's sister? Isn't it against the law or summit?).

Oh and I got a black eye today. Not a real one, my make-up artist friend did it for me. Looked great, everyone thinks it's real, it rocks.

Anyway, I waffled on there, none of that is important in the slightest but meh.

Goldsausage 06-04-2010 10:43 PM

Oh and I forgot, that girl I like actually invited me to some party tommorow night too. I even spent the entire of Tuesday helping her pick out an outfit, she picked a real sexy one but then didn't buy it <_<

But alas, it is not possible for me to go anyway :(

In my experience that means you're in there. In fact almost the exact same thing happened to me.

Got to make your move before you end up squarely in the friend zone though young grasshopper.

Kathleen 06-12-2010 04:09 AM

Friday sucked - its got to improve tomorrow. I swear I'm not leaving the house until I check a traffic webcam :(

For me too. Best forgotten.

After two practices, Saturday is now *all* about the skating. I swear, since Thursday I've been like "only two days till I get to skate again!". Totally hooked already. Was *way* more in control today than a week ago. *Do* need to learn some warm-up exercies to prevent my thighs from breaking! Been invited to a party next weekend with them all. This was without doubt a good decision. And now I get to adopt a violent, pun-based pseudonymn.

Amongst the girls, my favourite so far is "Nico Warrior", and I've heard of a male ref called "Twisted Mister".... My name will be an important decision! (And i do ****ing love a good pun).

Have baked bread, practiced piano - just settling down to life, I guess (not always easy). Watching England - USA tonight, amongst friends.

Tomorrow I have no idea at all what I will do.

C'monFeet 06-25-2010 01:56 PM

It is the weekend of Bon Jovi. It's been sufficiently long since I've seen them that I've forgotten the appropriate level of excitement. It will start to feel real (after a couple of glasses of wine) on the train, I'm sure.

Elsewhere a picnic and/or hooking up with Literary Girl and the reading of the Wedding Banns on Sunday.

And almost certainly meeting a couple of you.

Jim Bon Jovi 06-25-2010 04:30 PM

Not up to much today. Was planning on tidying the flat and starting to pack my non-essential bits and bobs but I can't really be bothered.

I've just chilled out listening to tunes and done a bit of reading.

However at this point of the day 2 weeks time I will be soundly planted at the bar of my local drinking establishment well on my way to getting shit faced :D:D:D:D

Jim Bon Jovi 07-02-2010 03:55 PM

My last Saudi Sunday shall be spent listening to tunes, drinking cider and watching the football. :D

And next Friday I can properly contribute to this thread again (assuming I'm going to waste time posting here before going on a mission, which is quite unlikely)

C'monFeet 08-12-2010 09:37 PM

Dissapointed at the lack of info on Jim's UK Fridays. I can only conclude it's the shame of it all.

One of the biggest weekends of my life ahead. I'm my best friend's best man, and he's so damn happy and I'm so damn proud of him. And have my bags packed for NJ beside me, leaving on Monday after a day's post wedding Euphoria.

I've not left my house and day to day worries seem VERY far away now. This trip didn't seem at all real an hour ago. In a week, I'm seeing Phish*, which is a show I've waited 13 years for. They were the first band I ever saw at Glastonbury that long ago and have honestly changed my life like no other band. A week later, it's Tom Petty - even if he's shit, the anticipation will be worth the price of the tickets.

I've a pair of skates and a full set of pads in my suitcase, which is something I would NEVER have seen in my life if you'd asked me a year ago (I would NEVER have seen being this open about my life around here, either). And a whole weekend with far too many unbelievable people who I love far too much. Somewhere along the way I have to make a speech in front of 150 wealthy folk, but I figure I have enough charm (and alcohol) to see me through.

I have to be on my game more than I have in YEARS, but this will be AAAAWWWWWWEEEEESOOOOOOMMMMMME

James is getting married! :BIG:

I get to see Holly after 6 years! :BIG:

Ten miles from Asbury Park! :BIG:

Christ, this is a switch from a 9 to 5 office week! :BIG: :BIG: :BIG:

Let's just say I haven't been resting on my laurels.

Last Friday was spent at my friends dads boat. And by that I mean we sat around his boat drinking, hit the big city lights of Tarbert (not to be mistaken by Tarbet) where we had a curry and drank some more, then hit a pub and drank some more then went back to the boat and drank some more.

All being said, we drank a lot. I won't tally it up but considering out boat never left the mooring (but for the grace of god) we could have kept up with any member of her majesties navy.

Plus you're forgetting that I'm a semi-employed teacher with cash to burn. I have a 7 day weekend just now. I don't have to wait around till Friday to have some fun ;)

Kathleen 08-13-2010 04:02 AM

And you failed to mention that you might meet up with me - I'm crushed :p

Yes, THE EXPENDABLES is released.

My testosterone3 levels are rising now

BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim Bon Jovi 08-13-2010 04:21 AM

All of my buddies are predisposed today which had bummed me out no end.

However by a stroke of luck it turns out that BBC4 is having a Ray Davies night so instead of going out into the big bad world of boozehounding and women of questionable morals, I think I'll get some gin and limes in and bunker down for the night.

That's until the one guy I know who doesn't have any plans realises that I don't have any plans and drags me out for a sesh anyways. :D

Walkerboy 08-13-2010 02:32 PM

It's Friday, and it's the 13th.....

My back feels fu**ed beyond belief, with the docs pills doing absolutely ZILCH to help the pain/discomfort. Alcohol did help a little bit last night though.
Also feeling bit nauseus too, but can't decide if that's due to the pain or just generally feeling crap.

On the plus side, it means I'm going to go home early.... Can't climb into bed and chill due to a 6 & 4 year old who will want attention.

My Friday feels like a Monday!

You can't beat a good music documentary! I'll save it for Saturday morning on iplayer though, usually.

I am taping it.

I'm really just looking for an excuse to stay in because I've had not 1 but 2 "I'm NEVER EVER EVER drinking again" days since Monday and tonights optinos are either stay in, go down the local and probably end up leaving early cos it's shit and no ones in or go up town with my mate and rack up "Never again" hangover number 3.

I wish I could be bothered setting up my drums and preamp and I could spend the night drinking and recording.

Jim Bon Jovi 08-14-2010 02:31 AM

I went out for a run on my brother's bike tonight. being a street hybrid it's good for road and pavement and shit all else so when I took it onto a dirt track it quickly (and unceremoniously) flipped me over the handlebars but not before having my balls connect full with them in full motion.

I decided Allah was trying to tel me doing anything except going to the pub on Friday night was haram so I went out.

Ended up sitting with a guy I know who was sitting with 2 ladies.

It turned out that one of these ladies was an ex Celtic players mum and sister-in-law. The sister in law was HOT so despite being married and shit I put the moves on.

This worked remarkably well, for the mother who made it quite clear that she was a lonely widower and I was "a very characteristic young man"

She looked like Jack Palance playing Skeletor (google it if you've never seen the best 80s movie without Arnie or Sly) but I really had to fight the urge not to put the moves on. I'd have got a plaque in my local Rangers pub if I had shagged an ex Celtic players mum :D

Now I'm home watching the Ray Davies Glasto gig. Brilliant.

Jim Bon Jovi 08-14-2010 02:58 AM

**** getting the Kinks back together. Just use stem cells to keep Ray Davies touring:

UKers you really need to iplayer this set if it goes up.

Ferret 08-14-2010 03:07 AM

Quiet friday night, as saturday will be my day of getting completely shitfaced. I predict a slow and steady fall from grace and by sunday I'll probably be sick. Trying to avoid the latter though.

KeepTheFaith2211 08-14-2010 03:36 AM

It's all about moving on, isn't it? :) Made a poor attempt at sucking poison out of my life tonight and I think it's gonna work. Successful Friday, overall!

Jack Palance didn't play Skeletor - that was Frank Langella.

Jim Bon Jovi 08-20-2010 10:24 PM

Well this sucks.

My brother is babysitting
Another mate has taken his little brother to see a rugby game
Everyone's fallen out with the token geek of the gang
My buddy Davey is having a quiet one
My other mate owes his boss some big report so is going to be in work on the other side of town till at least 9pm
And my mate you can usually rely on when all else fails must be the only amatuer footballer who refuses to drink on a Friday night when he's got a game on Saturday.

So I'm sitting here piss bored in the house with a few tins while my old man ****s around with the satellite he's just managed to break.

This will honestly be the first Friday night I've spent in in years :s

I might take a wander down the pub to see if anyone is in.

On the plus side I'm planning on spending most of tomorrow drinking gin and listening to my dad's LPs.

Ferret 08-20-2010 11:04 PM

Boring friday. Going to a party next friday but this week I'm cracking open a beer and listening to a bootleg from Neil Young's current tour.

KeepTheFaith2211 08-22-2010 02:14 AM

It's Saturday I know but had a tiny amount of alcohol tonight and enjoyed myself with friends. Friday-like behaviour, in that sense!
