Bon Jovi at Bucharest Rock Arena?

Bucharest Rock Arena is a big rock festival that will take place for the first time somewhere between Bucharest and the Black Sea on the 30th and 31st of May.

Was talking to my mom on a couple of days ago and she goes like "hey, did you know that AC/DC, Guns N' Roses and Bon Jovi will play Bucharest Rock Arena?" And I'm like, yeah, what a joke, blah blah. Anyhow, she heard it on some radio station and the radio guy apparently said that 2 out of this 3 bands will play. I looked up the website and of course there was nothing there.

However, I just checked again and AC/DC are now confirmed, which came like a HUGE shock because I didn't believe it for a second. The 2nd major headliner will be announced April 15th. Any chance it will indeed be Bon Jovi or do they already have gigs during those days? I'm so completely uninterested in their Jazz Fests and what not that I really have no idea. It seems like they are really high on the wishlist (just behind AC/DC and Aerosmith), they never played Romania before, so who knows. Otherwise, if Guns N' Roses will be the other headline, hell, that would already be a great line- up. Too bad there's no way I can make it.

the website is shit but here you go: http://www.bucharestrockarena.ro/artisti.html

Sounds believeable I guess, since they're doing Summerfest and other shows. Hope it turns out to be true, won't bet on it just yet though.

we'll find out in 3 days :D but the fact that AC/DC confirmed indeed made me really curious. I highly doubt it though. Chances 10-15%.

Aloha !

Bon Jovi thinks they are too big for the festivals in Europe, they're not going to do it unless they can make a shitload of money with it.

Seriously? But I thought they had done festivals in Italy and other countries in the past few years(2003 maybe)?

they played Heineken Jammin' 2003 in Italy...what a line-up...Metallica, Jovi, and Maiden. Still, 3 of the best days of my life. Anyhow, that was the first and only real rock festival they played since the 1995-1996 days.

Edit: Rock in Rio last year :P

Heineken Jammin' was done because of a contractual thing with the promoters in Italy as far as I'm aware and Rio was done because of the big amount of exposure they'd get when they were headlining there.

When Bon Jovi however was offered a headlining slot at a Belgium festival back in 2006 they refused to because they thought they'd become too big to perform at festivals nowadays. Promoters couldn't offer anything better and this resulted in no Belgium date for the HAND tour.

And apart from this; if Bon Jovi is coming over to Bucharest they'll do more dates in Europe. They won't come over for just one date over there.

Sebastiaan

Well if they are willing to play this New Orleans Jazz Fest and that ridiculous gig in Sarnia, they should play some festivals in Europe.
