What defines...
 

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but, I've heard about radiofriendly songs, and I'm wondering what defines them. Anyone cares to explain please? :p

non offencive, happy and catchy songs. It's my life and who says you can't go home are prime examples of this.

a catchy melody, memorable easy lyrics and today NO guitar solo, just hooks :-(

Commercially minded, easily digested, inoffensive songs.

That doesn't necessarily mean bad though. Nothing inherently wrong with a good pop hook.
