Turn up that dial! From the rockin' dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, by way of hit runs at the La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, comes a hot new Broadway musical with heart, soul and energy to burn - featuring music by Bon Jovi founding member and rock legend David Bryan, in his Broadway debut!

MEMPHIS is the story of Huey Calhoun, a white radio DJ whose love of music transcends racial lines and airwaves. With his influence and encouragement, "race music" heard only in segregated clubs reaches radio audiences everywhere, and the Golden Era of early rock 'n' roll takes flight. But when Huey falls for a black singer he is helping to promote, whether the world is ready for their music, and their love, is put to the test. A thrilling theatrical event that combines traditional Broadway splendor with the roots of rock, MEMPHIS is brought to life with a score by David Bryan and a story by Joe DiPietro, who first collaborated on the award-winning Off-Broadway hit The Toxic Avenger. Direction is by Christopher Ashley (Xanadu) and choreography is by Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys).

Get ready to experience all the exuberance and the emotion... the beauty and the controversy... of a wondrous, defining time in our history. You're tuning in to MEMPHIS.

We are planning on going when Terri is here for the Bruce concerts. I have wanted to see it for a while since I couldn't get to Boston when it was there.

AWESOME! I can't wait to see this either. Does anyone know if there is a soundtrack out yet? I've only been able to listen to what songs I can via youtube ... :(
Either way, I love what I've heard so far!!
