What is Jons contribution to the band?

I saw the poll results on the dry county front page about Richie. The top vote for Richies contribution was 40% and I might just about agree with that. I just wondered what % people thought Jons contribution was.

I know it doesn't make a blind bit of difference but I thought it would make interesting comparision to the official poll.

You would assume Tico & David (and Hugh, producer?) would have at least 10% contribution each.

So if Richie would have 40%, Jon would always have less contribution then Richie which, of course, isn't the case.

Therefore the 40% of Richie would already be too high, if you ask me.

I put up 80%, mainly because it's hard to quantify into numbers. I think that Richie especially has more input then some people think, but I also think for better or worse Jon is the main man in charge.

70% Jon, commercially speaking he's the driving force. The majority of people think Bon Jovi is just him (A clever move on his part)

If Jon quit tomorrow and the rest of the band continued I doubt they could fill a small arena.

On relection overall, I'd say Jon was about 40, Richie 30, Tico and Dave 12.5 each and Hugh 5.

Ultimately the band is BON JOVI and under the contract everybody is working for Jon which makes him majority and CEO.

Commercially Id agree that Jon was 70% but for songwriting I would say there is contribution from others such as Richie and Desmond Child.

Tico has to have more than Dave, he's not even in the mix half the time :)

Fine, Tico 15 and Dave 10. Still, Daves been credited on all of Jovis albums like Tico and they both put their lot in at the live performances.

I put 40%...
Jon 40, Richie 30%, Desmond Child 15%...and the rest is covered by the different producers, songwriters, and everyone else who's ever been credited on a record or for helping out making a tour run.

However, I prefer QUALITY over QUANTITY and most of Jon's 40$ is shit. Did I say $??? I meant %...nothing more than a typo!

What's this topic's contribution to the board?

MrsDavidSambora 07-06-2009 10:15 PM

I'd say.... 50 Jon, Richie 25, Tico and Dave 12,5
