Hard rock calling 2010

just heard on planet rock radio that the boys are rumoured to be headlining next years event at hyde park and a approach has been made.No issues with them doing, but i hope it wont be at the expence of a full tour. Springsteens date i beleive was his only uk date ( apart from glasto ) on his tour. What do you think yay or nay

I think it's possible. That would probably be their London date for the year, with the Manchester date and then the other pointless UK dates.

I'm not sure Jon would do it. Although he liked Hyde Park as a location his hay fever turned up and wouldn't go away for the first 1,5 hours of the show. The same counted for the other gigs on the Bounce Tour that were on an open field. Personally, I'd love them to play at Hyde Park though.

Salaam Aleikum,

I never thought of that. I guess that could be a prevention but I would love to see them at Hyde Park, I must admit. It seems like a nice location.

Pointless? How so?

The only reason a huge act like Springsteen done Hard Rock calling and Glastonbury was because he didn't stage any of his own shows in England, I'm sure he would've took a loss on doing so. Something I don't think JBJ would be keen on.

It was awesome last time they played Hyde Park, I would love to see them them play there again. It was immense - wasn't it like 100,000 people?

Personally I'd rather they do their own London gig rather than Hard Rock Calling. Although I've really enjoyed HRC the twice I've been, the setlist would probably be predicatable as hell, and the amount of casual fans would have the potential to be really irritating too.

Personally, I'd prefer them to play Milton Keynes over Hyde Park anyways

Jon's talked about doing festivals before and its never materialised - though I know they've done a few in Europe and the States recently, so who knows - but they always have their own shows around festival time in the UK - and why play at a festival for less $ than they'll make playing on their own to their own dedicated fans.

The only thing I wonder about is if Jovi will play Glastonbury, after seeing Springsteen do it. Michael Eavis has stated he's in discussions with two major bands next year who have never played the festival before.

For some reason i cant see Jovi playing Glastonbury! It wouldn't go down to well with critics etc and Glasto needs the critics on its side unless it wants another year like 2008 (jay z & majorly underselling!)
