How to sing like Richie?

Not his lead voice, but his backup vocal voice. Like in Keep the Faith. Dead or Alive. Pretty much every song richie sings in as backup.

Apart from being a great singer to begin with... practice. I don't know what other answer you were hoping for as there's no secret answer as to how to emulate the singing style of such a phenomenal vocalist. :)

It's probably mostly a matter of talent, that you need to sing like this.
If you don't have the right basic voice, no practising in the world will be enough to get you to that spot.

as a guitar player and songwriter and member of a band and session player there's one thing you need...you need to have "A" voice.

then you need to sing continually from a young age.

to sound like sambora? there's loads of techniques he does....ultimately he's unique.

he's influenced me enormously -along with michael jackson-as a vocalist although i only do backing vocals....in terms of writing melodies!
