Nothing -The song
 

I know this has probably been done before, but how the hell did this song not make it onto HAND?

This has been mentioned lots of times and I don't think anyone knows why!

Probably because Jon didn't like it or something...

Dude, in my short time being on this forum, this is the THIRD thread made about this song. No offence, but use the search button.

It is the best and one of the only kind-of 'HAND' songs that I still like and listen too. No idea why it wasn't included. And it sounded too much like I Am, which is stupid that it made it over I Am, because I Am is a crap song.

Yup. It was because of it. It sounds like "I Am" and they decided to include "I Am" instead of "Nothing"... Another stupid decision.

Dirty little secret should definitely been a song, Nothings good too. But I still prefer DLS.

I Am is MILES better then Nothing IMHO.

I Am is a shit song compared to Nothing. Sure, I Am is ok but Nothing is out standing ! In my opinion one of the best songs post-2000. The lyrics are excellent, not to mention the music !

I am, and the majority of HAND can suck my left nut.

I asked Jon about 'Nothing' in June 2006 and he said that he was just not feeling it and he wanted songs on the album that he would be happy to sing live of which 'Nothing' was not one.
My guess is the lyric or idea came from Richie due to his personal love problems at the time .....
It is also a similar sounding song to 'I am' but he said that it was just he could n't relate to the lyrics - I told him I thought it was a great track of which he replied - ' I make mistakes maybe - I'm not an A n R guy and I wanted to not put 'Prayer' on Slippery ....
