No. Simon realised that by going with the public vote, he could get rid of possibly the biggest threat to his chances of winning, and undoubtedly create a huge uproar over it (i.e. a huge amount of publicity). I think he just lost a lot of credibility with that decision though.

It's pretty clear IMO that Simon is just pretending to hate John and Edward, I'm almost certain that they were handpicked from the beginning to stay in until the finals. I knew that if it came down to it, Simon wouldn't vote them out

there are plenty of singers around like Lucie , so Im not shocked she went... Like Simon said none of them would be winners...

Simon Cowell isn't to Blame. Yeah, what he did was sly and people can argue that it was a tactical thing, but he's not responsible for Lucy's demise. Of course, if he went for Jedward, then that makes him responsible for them leaving. Bottom Line; it was the Public that voted Lucy off the show, PERIOD!
