Breath of Fresh Air

This site is a breath of fresh air in the midst of a bunch of blind followers... Thank God there are true fans out there that aren't afraid of being critical and taking a serious/critical/humorus/fun look at the band.
Maybe it's just the legion of people that usually come out of the works following a new release then head back that is makin me fustrated, but it just seems like so many people are ga-ga over Jon and think absolutely everything he says (and his liberal views) are coming from the Messiah. Just wanna say thanks to all you who keep it real and stayed fans of the BAND (aka not just 'ol Jonny, cool as he is) and the MUSIC. whew... k, venting done. but thanks.

Well - that breath of fresh air is exactly why some of us longterm fans are still here. It's mostly about the music rather than any one individual. It's a band :D

I happen to agree with Jon's liberal views and being aware of them helps understand some of the music and lyrics. But first and foremost is the music - not the politics.

I liked your post up until it became clear you're just grumpy that JBJ ain't a Republican. To relieve your discomfort, I could point to some fantastic alternatives, such as Toby Keith...

Well I was a so-called lefty bleeding heart long before Bon Jovi became an influence in my life. Jon is basically centre-left rather than any sort of leftist radical anyway. But I doubt anyone follows Bon Jovi for the politics; I mean Jon's idea of a modern day protest song is Have a Nice Day.

Didn't mean to start a thing on politics here... I come here to get away from that stuff hahaha. It's totally not a Republican vs Democrat thing for me tho. I don't like either lol Might've slighted it that way accidently cause I was angry at the time cause I had just seen the whole 'Green' line of stuff and had thought that nothin says rock n' roll like eco-friendly water bottles and organic t-shirts. lol
My only point was how this site is nice to come to amid a bunch of phonys out there.
And yes, I will say Toby Keith rocks ;) at least he still rides his Harley :D
