i jsut spoke to matt in the BS chat rooms, and asked him why o2 was so dear and gave him afew home truths, his answer was " BJ dont set prices" and its down to aeg. But he did say he emailed the management and jbj and expressed his concerns about prices as he is well aware of the backlash and is trying to get at least the booking fees scrapped, so lets see if the band do have a heart and do summet about it

Booking fee being scrapped isn't really going to make much of a dent.

I think anyone with any sense knew AEG were the ones who set the ticket prices, so the backlash against Jon not "working for the working man" has little to actually do with him. But now he IS aware of it, be interesting to see what the CEO of Bon Jovi Inc. does about it, if anything.

Him putting the blame on AEG is just taking the easy way out. Jon runs the business, AEG offer Jon the plan on the O2 dates and pricing and Jon has to confirm it. He's the man who can tell the promoters what the maximum price is that he wants to charge, and anyone believing that Jon isn't responsible for these ticket prices is living in a tiny bubble. It might be AEG who has set it up, but Jon has given it a go.

Personally I didn't think that this many fans would be upset and they're now trying to find a way to put the blame on someone else. Yet they have AEG who will promote the entire tour so in the end they'll just shut up about it, ignore everything and will let it go.

I agree wholeheartedly. If he said no to what they proposed, what's AEG gonna do? Have the shows without him?

Besides, he told us himself. He's a "CEO running a brand for 25 years." The CEO has no say about the prices? I don't think so.

Now, the booking fee--that may be an AEG or ticket company issue.

The booking fee isnt the issue-ok its expensive but its still ontop of the £200 tickets

The booking fee is charged by the ticket operator it's the way they make their profit, so that won't be scrapped! As seb said nothing will happen, it never does but I'm not complaining, yea the tickes are ridiculously dear but right now I can afford a few shows so I may aswell pay it while I have it! (it's not like I'm not gonna enjoy myself is it)

Wrong. AEG and the local promotors set the prices. Jovi only sets a bar on what has to be their NET revenue. That's all. Look at the differences in ticketprices during LH tour.
Holland 64 euro for GC tix. Belgium (one day after) was 100 euro.

Famous concert promotor Live Nation (and Herman Schuurmans) had the plan to organise BJ in Belgium at lower ticketprices and thus selling more tickets. Nope, AEG outbid them with plan for higher prices.

Jon does not run details from country to country. He just negociates their deal in general with live nation (how many shows, revenue per show, ... that's it). AEG's business is maximizing it's own profit.

But surely he must know what AEG are planning on charging for his tickets.
There must be contracts signed,otherwise AEG would have him over a barrel.
He wouldnt be able to pull out because he would get sued for cancelling.
