Asking a refund from Backstage - Who's up for it?

Aloha !

Who's up for it over here?

Dear Mr/Mrs.

I am hereby writing you to ask for a refund because you fail to live up to the agreement we made when I signed up for the fanclub.

I'd like to make a few things obvious;

When joining this fanclub I was promised a few things:

1. Access to a presale
2. Chances to get tickets for Bon Jovi shows before anyone else
3. Exclusive video messages from Jon
4. Opportunities to meet Jon

I am now a member for roughly 2 weeks and have noticed the following:

1. I have not had access to a presale for either Paris or Giants Stadium. I could not access the site (a problem that has been admitted by spartkart)
2. The presale for Giants stadium was together with a presale for American Express card holders. This does not mean it's acces to Bon Jovi tickets before anyone else, like the fanclub promised. It became obvious that no one managed to get the tickets of his/her choice simply because people form other presale were ahead of us and bought them.

The "presale" for Paris happens at the same time as the normal sale for everyone else in the world. That's not a presale either. A chance for tickets means that there's actually a possibility to get the tickets of your choice. This was not the case for Giants, I couldn't get any tickets at all. So far for having the chance at tickets at the show of my choice. You did not live up to your promise.

3. There has only been 1 video message from Jon Bon Jovi. I was promised more.
4. I have not yet been offered to meet Jon yet, and I now feel I'd like to meet him for other reasons before I joined this fanclub.

Further on I expected the tickets for the fanclub to have the same price as the tickets that non-members, but this fanclub actually charges more which makes me wonder why I should buy tickets at the fanclub in the first place. I've already paid for my membership so did not expect nor am I willing to pay more for every other thing you offer here than standard face value prices.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I'm sure they'll refuse because they know that if they refuse my membership they'll have to refuse many others, which is why it's such a great thing that there's companies in Holland that actually stand up for my rights.

I am however hoping that others from here would join me, but I take it you're not up for it?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I think there's a "than" missing in this sentence. And maybe substitute "other" for "different".

Also, good luck.

My longtime membership is up in November, next month. Yesterday, I posted on backstage (my first post on the new board actually) that I would not be renewing. The last 2 tours I have been able to get better seats, cheaper than what the fanclub offered.

Certainly I'm up for it - those practices have really put me off. I just think that it will fall on deaf ears.

I support you arguments an think that you are right on target but I'm not a memer of the fanclub so it's kinda useless for me to ask for a refund ;)

I renewed for 2 years last year (and got 3 more months "free"), so I'm paid up until sometime in early 2011. From my experiences during the LH tour, my membership will probably benefit me because I hit shows outside of the NY/NJ area. The tickets for those shows go so quickly, but elsewhere . . . not nearly as fast. I had decent luck with my fan club tickets last time, and I'm hopeful that I will again.

Besides, as far as I'm concerned, the fan club concert that I had the opportunity to attend last February bought some loyalty from me. Doesn't mean I won't get mad at the club and the idiotic way that it does business much of the time, but an opportunity like that now and again is why I'm still willing to be a laminate-wearing member.

Sorry, Seb. Good luck, though!

Yep, Terri for your shows like Charlotte and Atlanta the reg. fanclub (non package) tickets will be much cheaper than NJ. I'm planning on coming to the Charlotte show..hope to see you there!!

The southern contingent is currently trying to figure out if we can really do Nashville and Charlotte on consecutive nights, Deb. Someone needs to remind the band that the fans don't have private planes at their disposal! LOL It's at least a 6.5-7 hour drive normally, and there's just been some big rock slide somewhere along the way that's causing a major detour. Presumably that will be gone by April, but you never know. Road crews in the south don't always move with the speed we might like! I'm a driving maniac after all my years of dog shows, so I KNOW I can do it. Maybe I'll unload all the dog show equipment from the back of the van and load up the gang. (I'm not sure how they'll all get home, but that's just one more detail. LOL) All that to say that if I have my way, we'll be in Charlotte with bells on! I'm going to that arena for Bruce on 11/3, so I'm planning to scope out the area.

I love planning for concert trips.
