general admission

i've just seen on the ticketmaster website, that u2 has a general admission in the stadiums during their usa tour. why does bon jovi only have seats when they play in the stadiums in the usa ??? i think thats really sad, because seats are nothing for a ROCK concert...guns n roses even have a general admission in the basketball arenas...much much better in my opinion....

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$

thats why!

but i think there would fit in more people in the stadium or the arena without seats on the floor. or do you mean that the prices are higher for seats?

they'd probably get some more in if it was GA, but higher prices for seats = more cash

Well, whether you believe them or not, they actually say they prefer the safety factor afforded by seated stadium shows. They have spoken out before about how they think European shows are unsafe and that the 'moshing' can be dangerous.

Personally, I think you would increase a venue's capacity by getting rid of seats and the ticket prices aren't any more/less so I am tempted to believe them on this occasion.

Please, there is no such thing as "moshing" at a Bon Jovi gig any more. If you want to see moshing look at The Foo Fighters doing All My Life at Wembley Stadium, stick "Prodigy Slane Castle" into YouTube or look at any footage from a UK stadium show for Oasis doing stuff like Lyla or Cigarettes & Alcohol(and no doubt there are may other examples). Bon Jovi crowds just do not respond like that.

The seats over GA is about $$$, nothing more, nothing less.

That's why I put it in "".

I've been to enough other gigs to know what real 'moshing' looks like. I find it difficult to believe it's got anything to do with money when the seated tickets at Hampden in 2006 were, as far as I can remember, exactly the same price as GA. It is also impossible to argue you fit more people in at seated events because it's blatantly not true.

Maybe there is another reason. You can sell much more tickets for a general admission stadium. Maybe it's because there are some doubts that they would sell all these tickets? It's better to play in a sold out stadium in front of a filled seated field than in front of a only half filled field in the stadium.

don't think that this is the reason...why do they sometimes play more than one show in the same stadium then?

It's a safety issue. That's straight from the horses' mouths... ;)
