beautiful gripes

I watched when we were beautiful twice and although i enjoyed it, i must say that i did feel that it didnt touch on some key issues i was hoping to hear about:

1) The whole alec john such departure and what their current relationship is with him now.
2) What went through their minds during KTF and These Days era when their popularity in the US had taken a noticeable hit. (i.e. what did it feel like it when they were selling out stadiums all over the world and had to play noticeably smaller venues in their homeland)
3) What were their honest expectations when they were trying to comback with crush (and to a lessor degree with KTF)

I was also dissapointed with the fact that it didnt have the feel of a documentary in the sense that it was an outsider looking in, it felt like it was the band telling the story so to speak. I know they changed directors so that they could have 'creative control', but i still felt something was lost in that it felt just like another bon jovi project.

What did everyone else think of the documentary.

Didn't like it. Just showed what a control freak Jon is and that's about it to me.

I have to say it did nt show jon in a good light tbh compared to the rest but yet think he was trying to get across how stressed his life is and hectic it yet according to the rest of the band he likes it that way. I did like it tho have to say gave u a right look into what goes on I feel.

i agree...it didn't give us any insight into the life of the band in the 90s, which i would have been very interested in. it definitely made jon look like a control freak and, occasionally, a bit of an ass. made the rest of the band look like jon's followers - which i'd like to believe is not the case (at least not as much as WWWB made it appear). i didn't feel like i learned much new from it, and what i did learn i didn't really like.

a few moments started to touch on topics that interseted me (ie, when jon starts talking about not liking to do the 'intimate' - These Days, i presume? -songs live)...but then the subject gets quickly dropped.

disappointing - i was looking forward to this. oh well...

I enjoyed it but there was loads missing that I wanted to know about.

I think it did show JBJ as a control freak, but I prefer him like that because it shows he is still passionate about music and wants everything to be perfect. Sometimes, it isn't, but that's life. Not everything is perfect.
