So I'm at this wedding last night. . .
It's about 9.00pm, and the DJ is taking requests to get people on the dance floor. I lean over to my friend John and ask; "what Jovi shall we get on?".
"Born to be My Baby" is his wise choice. So I stroll over and make the request, head back to my table. Little while later I hear the DJ saying Bon Jovi is coming on, but as the track starts and I stand up to head to the dance floor I know something is wrong. Turns out this is the one DJ in the world who has TLFR with him and has selected that version. I turn my head and sit down, as do most others. He sees the reaction and cuts the track off before it hits a minute in. Little later he busted out Prayer though, which went down a storm. I mean honestly, TLFR? Who requests that? |
that's bad luck :-(
maybe 'cause TLFR is labeled with Greatest Hits and if you don't know you believe that |
it is actually a great version :)
|
Dude that's just a tragedy.
|
I like Born To Be My Baby TLFR, but it's not exactly a song for a DJ to play!
|
Well I learned that version of guitar, and we all know what the rule is...
If Oli Has Bothered To Learn It On Guitar - It's A Brilliant Song. So that DJ is extra cool if anything. I like him. If you don't want to be his friend, let me be his friend. |

the guys obviously put it on not realising that it's either a weird version of it or he;s not knew the tune in the 1st place.
i'd go with the latter since it's not your typical wedding gig song to play. |
That's quite funny actually. One of the rock venues we play at in Glasgow has just a single Jovi DVD in their collection to play on their big screen... can you guess what it is?
Our drummer also bought that as his first Jovi DVD after joining the band thinking it to be a greatest hits show and quickly realised he had made a mistake. LOL |
