I would say its the result of a poor song choice for first single! with all the promotion they got, u think they would have at least got one week at number 1

Supersonic 11-08-2009 08:12 PM

Aloha !

This simply means that with all the promo they do they don't gather any new fans that buy the album and just have a standard selection of people that buy the new album. Lost Highway also made it to number 2, and that one had zero promotion in the UK, so their promo tour in the UK was pretty much useless.

Well **** Cheryle Cole anyway. That's shit. Hopefully it gets to number 1 in the U.S.

It wouldnt be anything to do with being in a recession and close to christmas and a lot of people illegally downloading would it!

Ahh well, Number 2 is still good I guess.

Made up about WWBTF, though.

If that were true Cheryl Cole wouldn't make it to that spot either. She's not even a new entry and has stayed at number 1 now.

Not necessarily. You always have to consider the circumstances / the competition and how many albums were actually sold. You might make it to no.2 with a quite low sales number (which I assume was the case for LH) simply because that week the other artists didn't sell much either. Or, you can sell a lot and only make it to no. 2 because someone like Cheryl Cole seems to be quite hip these days and no matter how much you promote an album, shit like that just appeals to a larger audience.
