Nintendo Wii

Does anyone else on this game console? We got one and they are great fun. OK the graphics might not be as good as other but good fun though. Just found this James Cameron's Avatar: The Game (Wii):... James Cameron's Avatar: The Game (Wii):...Looks like it could be good.
What games do you play on Wii?

Goldsausage 01-07-2010 02:34 PM

We have a Wii but I can't stand the ****er.

My dad loves it though, can't get him off it. Although it's really tedious when I'm watching TV and he rushes into the room every 5 minutes to tell me a new achievement he made on some WiiFit/Fitness Board game <_<

JerseyboyUK 01-07-2010 02:50 PM

I had a wii but traded for a 360. I did love it.

And i'll go on record as saying that the controls for FIFA 09/10 on the Wii beat other consoles hands down. You get more control over exactly where you want the ball to go, running off the ball, better shooting accuracy etc etc. Using the Wii-mote to point exactly where you want the ball to go works BRILLIANTLY.

Sorry, but the control system on other consoles for this game does not even come close.

Jim Bon Jovi 01-07-2010 03:57 PM

It's definitely an enjoyable console and the lack of graphics doesn't matter when you make games as good as nintendo does.

I bought mario 64 ds to bring out to saudi with me and 3+ months later I'm still loving it and trying to get 100% of the stars when other games I bin once I've completed the main game.

Miracle 01-07-2010 05:14 PM

I have one. Most of my games multiplayer ones like Rock Band, but I did just get Marvel Alliance 2 and, as soon as I can find a store with store, I'll be getting the new Super Mario Bros game.

Iceman 01-07-2010 08:28 PM

I have a Wii and it's really good for specific type of games. Esp. with the Motion Plus the motion detection works really well. I like the Wii Fits and Sports, but my two absolute favourites are Resident Evil 4 and the virtual console games.

My mum bought herself one a few months ago and she's into it. I've played a bit on the Wii Sports and Wii Sports resort which are pretty good but not on much else. It's good when you can get a few mates round for a few beers and have competitions on it.

Irishshin 01-07-2010 09:34 PM

I love it, I don't use it as much as I should though.
Wii Fit is great, but when you haven't been on it too much it makes fun of you, not cool! Esp if you have gained weight it doesn't like that :p

Got Sonic & Mario at the Olympic games for Christmas, its pretty good.

I liked Zelda but gave up when I got stuck :) Same with Super Mario Galaxy.

Wii Sports & Play are great.

Best game is Mario Kart though. So addictive. Love it!

Sleep-When-Im-Dead 01-07-2010 09:59 PM

Yeaa, my mum bought one at christmas, its great fun we managed to get a second hand bundle with a load of games and accessories and stuff. Wii sports is great fun, as it the mario kart game(is there really a more fun racing game lol) got a ferrari driving game too but its pretty damn hard to play i;ll be honest. Oh and i picked up beatles rock band cheap the other day as well. I've never been sure about the rock band games but i thought as there was a console in the house that had it why not. The beatles one seemed best as it was for one artist, which means you get loads of unreleased beatles snippets and pictures when you complete songs and can recreate concerts etc....great fun. As much fun as real guitar.....no not at all haha.
But its definitely a good console, the internet channel is useful to but not as good as Iplayer, so useful to have that plugged into the tv!!!

Peterson 01-07-2010 10:49 PM

My mum bought one off my mate about a year and a half ago, I loved it at first and kept it round my house for ages before giving it to her ;)

Novelty wore off though, only tend to play it now and again when the family are all together (xmas etc) Quite good fun when you've been drinking lol.

Glad I stilll have my ps3 ;)

KeepTheFaith2211 01-07-2010 11:40 PM

I have one but for me it's a Resident Evil system. Only really play the old Resident Evil Gamecube games and the two exclusive Resident Evil Wii games on it.

liljovi93 01-07-2010 11:54 PM

We've got one, it's alright I guess.

I find I get bored pretty easy and it's only good if there are a few people playing.

My dad got Forumla one for it, though, on xmas day and it's really good but soooooo sensitive.

Captain Walrus 01-08-2010 12:31 AM

I've always been a Nintendo fanboy, the games are just of much better and consistent quality than other consoles IMO, and they're always the ones who trailbaze new technologies which the other gaming companies steal (see: the analog stick, the rumbling controller). I can't help but think that it won't be too long until Sony and Microsoft start nicking features of the Wii.

Although, I don't actually own one, but my brother does, and it spends most of its time in my room :D

Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy are two of my favourite games of this decade, and I'm really looking foward to the next installments of those two series, and the new Metroid game. I really need to play the two Wii exclusive Resident Evils too. I enjoyed Wii Fit too, but then my brother broke the disc :(

Name 1 great racing game for any Nintendo console. Mario Kart doesn't count.

I got easily bored with the Wii. I played on it a few times but after I found out I could sit on the couch and still win with Tennis I lost interest.

If you honestly think so then why did Playstation was the first controller with 2 joypads and looked the controller of the Gamecube a lot like the controller of the PSX?

Nintendo hasn't made a decent console in years, they were lucky the came up with the Wii because the N64 and Gamecube were both shite and the Wii still doesn't have any fancy graphics at all. I'm no fan of any console (they're all too limited so I play my games on the PC) but if I had to choose give me a Xbox or PS3 anytime. Racing games and soccer games are just so much better on those consoles.

Sebastiaan

Formula 1. It's a bit sensitive but the graphics are brilliant and it's fun to play.

The graphics look like something that'd be made available for a PS2, not the PS3. It looks worse than GTA3 on the PC. And the pit stop looks like they created it with LEGOS or something.

I'm not a big fan of racing games, so this doesn't really matter to me. How convenient that Mario Kart doesn't count though :p

The original Playstation controller didn't have the two analogue sticks, I'm pretty positive of that. It was only after the release of the the N64 that they redesigned their controller.

Also, the N64 is my favourite console ever

And, I don't like football games (or any sports games really) either, so that also doesn't matter to me! :D

Yeah, I'm wrong, the original controller was without them. Yet when they included them on their controller Nintendo released a similar controller for their Gamecube. I couldn't care less about who steals from who, I'm just saying that they both steal ideas from eachother. :)

And the N64 was everything the PSX was not. Which in this case was a good thing. It was slow, expensive and it's graphics were meh. Their last truely great console was the SNES. It's a shame SEGA never made it as a big as Nintendo or Sony because Sonic was an ace game and way more fun than Mario. :)

Soccer and Racing is all I do on a console. Yeah, and a little bit of Soul Calibur or Tekken every now and then. :D

That's because it's Nintendo. Not PS3.

I don't think the Nintendo Wii was made to have unreal graphics like the PS3 and I guess.. xbox are.

Amazing game. My childhood consisted of Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 for a few years. Marshall/Forrest Law was my man.

UKjovi 01-08-2010 09:26 AM

But if I poured him a beer everytime he made a new achievement on the Wii Fit, it would slow down his weight loss :p

Also, even though I'm not a big fan of Nintendo one thing I will give them credit for, and Paul touched on this earlier, they are always trying out new things.

The PS1, PS2 and PS3 are all the same console, just each one is an upgrade from the previous. Same for the Xbox and Xbox 360.

But Nintendo always try new things - there's a reason why the Wii was orginally going to be called the Revolution.

But alas, I still prefer playing the PS3 :P BUUUUUUUUUUUUT on the PS3 you can't play on Pokemon :( AND on the Wii you get so much more Sonic The Hedgehog games.

Shame every Sonic game for the last decade has been shit :(

I wonder what imaginative title Sony is going to come up with for its next console? :D
