check out the front row circle package, it includes a Flip video camera to record your concert with

Wow, they are so generous to us. Letting us film the show, its almost worth the £3000 for that alone

Sleep-When-Im-Dead 01-11-2010 10:39 PM

That's pretty good news for bootleggers :D...makes a change for a band to allow it as well:D

I've seen the quality of these camera's and there's no way you can make a multicam mix of them. They handed them out at McCartney gigs as well and they work rather well for crowd shots but as for shots at the stage? No. You're better off with a camera on a cellphone.

Salaam Aleikum,

yeah but would they be decent quality from the front row?
maybe with additional footage from real video cameras further back?

I'm just glad they are loosening the restrictions a little.

I use a Flip camera for some of my shorts and video work, they actually can be of okay quality.

It's at least a step in the right direction. Maybe they figure that the cost of the seats makes up for the loss in copyright (which they are not going to take advantage of anyway).

Ah yes but how much trouble am I going to get in if I get caught wth an HD camcorder? Because it's my luck that I'll get caught by the one prick in the venue.

Well - the trick is not to get caught LOL. However I'm sure we can assume that if caught you would get thrown out - or have your SD card confiscated. However we all know people who have done this successfully, fortunately.

Just last night I sat down and watched a Blu-Ray of the Led Zeppelin reunion show from 2007. Obviously someone got an HD camcorder in. It was awesome :D

Yup I know lol, I'm currently being taught the secrets ;) I was more or less joking or pointing out that the band may be cool with it but most security are still likely to be assholes about it. Plus, I think I remember Dave saying a while ago that Jon and even more so Richie are fine with taping...
