Open Letter To Bon Jovi

Not sure if anyone here read this. Anthony Kuzminski posted an Open Letter To Bon Jovi Regarding Set Lists. Its on his blog The Screen Door. I won't copy the article but here's the site.

He also mentions what Bon Jovi should play and what they should not. Its an interesting read.

That article sums up my feelings towards recent live shows. On the LH tour at Prudential I saw seven out of the ten shows. The last night was so disappointing because the show ended on three covers, all in a row. That should not be allowed to happen, there is so much that could have been in the set. I may have heard only four or five different songs played over those seven shows.

I still believe Bon Jovi is one of the greatest live acts that I have ever seen but they need to shake things up. Richie should do something besides These Days, IBTFY and Stranger. I've seen people sit down or head to get beer during his solo. Dave could even do a song like Memphis Lives In Me, Shout as much fun as it can be needs to be retired. Runaway with the time warp is played out. Bad Name could be placed elsewhere. I enjoy Sleep because seeing it played at Central Park made me realize how much I like it live. I am not a fan of Captain Crash at all and wish it would go. I feel like I could name songs on the set list even before I've seen the show. Jon needs to put up or shut up about playing the rarities or non album tracks. We know Jon knows and says he gets it but does he really. I hope to hear New Jersey, Slippery and even These Days in its entirety along with The Circle. There is no reason why they can't do it especially with the O2 and Meadowland dates.

Here's to hoping.

Sadly, chances of Jon ever reading it are slim.

As always, a passionately written piece, that does bring up a lot of good points. However there are some things I disagree with.

Well, for one, KISS's tour was one of the most successful ever. Maybe not in the US, but in Europe they went over very well.

And some of the songs are just not going to happen. Always every night? Not a chance.

I'm sure Jon, the spearhead of the most successful tour of 2008 is going to listen to this guy

Aloha !

He receives over 300 responses to an e-mail he sends out yet on Jovitalk a topic gets 50 different posters to post on a topic?

This guy just bores me to death with all his blogs on Bon Jovi. He mentions a lot of things he thinks would work yet half of it wouldn't go over well in a show. Richie playing Fallen From Graceland? Sure, if the band would do a club tour, but no in arena's and such. And the list goes on and on.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
