It IS odd that most of us die hards really like these songs. As we all know, most casual fans like the hairband hits and not much else. I had a conversation with a guy who is plenty old enough to know better (and a Bruce fan) and he says that Jon plays too much new stuff on this tour  go figure.

I agree with Jack - an album like that would have been awesome. However enough songs made it on to the box set that we have a good representation (I think).

However many people here think that These Days is dark and depressing. I don't imagine a grey summer album would appeal to them either.

I always thought songs like "Taking it Back", "Starting All Over Again", and "Why Aren't You Dead" were Post-Grey Summer?

And for what it's worth, Darkness still has "Badlands" and "The Promised Land" which are somewhat optimistic songs.

What the hell is all this grey summer talk? Did I miss something?

Okay I gotta get it out there because it's been on my mind for months - doesn't Badlands sound like it could have been perfect on Born To Run? Both lyrically and musically.

Luckily it wasn't, because that album's at a perfect length and another Thunder Road/Born To Run on that album would have been overkill.

The thing is, these songs aren't depressing. There's no hope in most of the songs on TD, most of these are positive and full of hope. I love most songs on your list and I hardly listen to TD.

Gee am i the only one who hates this song? I'll give it another listen now to see if I missed something.

Keeps on dragging and dragging. You are not alone Savvi though I don't hate it but it ain't my favorite either.

I salute you,

I feel the same

Amen to that

I salute you,

I might be wrong in believing this, but I always considered Dry County a grey summer song, too.
