The ideal setlist... for me.

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_7jqRatLO_Gg/S5...A/20100304.jpg

It should have that distribution, alternating a Lost Highway song, a cover and a boxset song. (using Seb's graphs as a reference)

Additional Notes.

1. BJ song should not be Runaway. Or at most it should be played 10% of the time.

2. One of the Crush songs will be always It's my life (let's be realistic, the band will play it EVERY show). They should try songs other than Older or Crash. Personally I'd love to hear Next 100 years again, or give Save a world an acoustic outing. The same applies with HAND, with WSYCGH as a regular at USA, and HAND at the rest of the world.

3. The Circle songs: Born to follow, When we where beautiful and Superman will be the regulars, the other 3 slots should be rotated to play every of the other 9 songs in the album.

4. The band should try out rarer songs in their acoustic set. Let's say... Silent night, Without love, I want you, Stick to your guns. They've shown they can.

5. For God's sake! No more than 2 ballads/acoustic songs in a row! It kills the atmosphere.

6. Bigger encores, please. 17 songs on main set + 3 for first encore + 2 or 3 for second encore should make it.

7. Keep the Faith MUST be a regular, and MUST end the show, and Richie should play the intro as he used to in 1992-1993.

8. Bounce should be represented as well as 7800 Degrees. I agree Bounce has some of the weakest songs composed ever by BJ, but the rock songs are killers. Bounce, Hook me up, Undivided, The Distance, and sparsely Everyday should be back on sets. Even Joey, Right side of wrong and Misunderstood should appear in some occasion.

9. All of Lost Highway record should be represented. LH, WLOL and Any other day frequently; Memory, WGIGO and Summertime less often, and the rest, rarely.

10. I encourage combos of rare-well known songs from two records, for 2-night cities. Let's say: Bed of roses-Lay your hands on me, at first night; and I'll be there for you-If I was your mother on a second night.

What do you think?

Crushgen24/88 03-05-2010 10:27 PM

There's certain elements of it I like, some I don't TBH.
Basically, I agree with numbers 1, 2, 4, and 6 very strongly (Outside of the WHo Says thing, as that will be played every show, in every country.) I disagree about The Circle songs, because I think Love's The Only Rule is perfect where it is right now.

Personally, the most bothersome thing about the latest setlists are (IMO) how close they are to being awesome. If they would do something like this:
1. Blood on Blood
2. We Weren't Born To Follow
3. You Give Love a Bad Name
4. *Lost Highway single or album cut*
5. *Bon Jovi or 7800* single or album cut*
6. *The Circle album cut*
7. *Wild Card*
8. *Wild Card*
9. Bad Medicine W/Doctor Doctor
10. We Got It Going On
11. Homebound Train W/Richie on Vox
12. *Jon-Centric, Richie gets a brief breather slot* (Hallelujah, (You Want To) Make a Memory, Open All Night (Bounce), Mystery Train)
13. *Monster hit ballad slot* (Bed of Roses, I'll Be There For You, Always, TAALS (one can dream), Never Say Goodbye)
14. Something For The Pain (Acoustic)
15. *Interchanging acoustic song*
16. Work For The Working Man
17. *Keep The Faith, Hey God, or Have a Nice Day*
18. It's My Life
19. Who Says You Can't Go Home
20. Love's The Only Rule

Encore:
21. Wanted, Dead or Alive
22. *The Circle album cut*
23. *Wild Card*
24. Living on a Prayer

^It's really not that far off from what they're doing, but offers a lot of night-night variety. Granted, it's not my *perfect* setlist, but I doubt mine (or anyone else's) *perfect* setlist is realistically possible.

I like your set, indeed!! But I'd do some adaptations on it to make it better for me.

1. Blood on Blood
2. We Weren't Born To Follow
3. You Give Love a Bad Name
4. *Rocker: Raise your hands, Wild in the streets, Bounce, If I was your mother...*
5. *Bon Jovi or 7800* single or album cut*
6. *Lost Highway single or album cut*
7. Superman tonight
8. *The Circle album cut*
9. Bad Medicine W/Doctor Doctor
10. Homebound Train W/Richie on Vox
11. *Jon-Centric, Richie gets a brief breather slot* (Hallelujah, (You Want To) Make a Memory, Open All Night (Bounce), Mystery Train)
12. *Monster hit ballad slot* (Bed of Roses, I'll Be There For You, Always, TAALS (one can dream), Never Say Goodbye)
13. Something For The Pain (Acoustic)
14. *Interchanging acoustic song*
15. *The Circle album cut* or *Mid tempo*
16. It's My Life
17. *Rocker: Hey god, Have a nice day, Damned, ....*
18. Who Says You Can't Go Home
19. Love's The Only Rule

Encore:
20. *The Circle album cut*
21. Livin' on a Prayer

Encore II:
22. *Wild Card (gem)*
23. Wanted dead or alive
24. Keep the Faith

BTW, This ain't a love song MUST be played at Mexico, it's one of their best known songs around here.

I'll try to make my ideal set list as realistic as possible:

1) LYHOM
2) Follow or Happy Now
3) Bad Name
4) Runaway
5) Only Lonely/In and out of love
6) Lost Highway or WLOL NOT both!
7) WWWB
8) In these Arms
9) Superman
10) WGIGO/One wild night/Bounce
11) Bad Medicine
12) IML
13) Homebound Train
14) IBTFY
15) Always/BOR/Living in sin
16) Blaze of Glory
17) Something for the pain/Saturday night
18) Faith/Hey God
19) HAND
20) Who says
21) Dry County/I believe
22) Loves the only Rule
Encore
23) Just Older/Next 100 years/Blood on Blood
24) Broken Promiseland/Thorn in my side
25) Wanted
26) Prayer

I'd be very happy with any of this combination. I don't think there is anything completely unrealistic here...

I think Its Hard Letting You Go would work really well as the 'Jon-centric' song in Europe (although Richie wouldnt really have a breather as his backing vocals are crucial!)

I agreed, this would fit quite well, and be better than a lot of the songs that Jon is currently focusing on.
