Livin on a prayer from 2007 onwards

does anybody else miss the 'oh oh oh's' at the end of the song ? i dunno, it just feels empty the way they end the song nowadays... sort of an anti climax for the fans used to the old version...

I like when Jon sings the chorus at the end in a different key, like on the OWN album. I guess that doesn't work as well if they're closing with LOAP. The "oh oh oh's" work best when it's the closing song. Which it has been on all but one show this tour.

I prefer the acapela opening.

I wish they'd just open shows with it, get it out of the way, so the rest of the show would be more predictable. Ending with Prayer just isn't that big of a deal to me anymore.

And I never liked it when he does that half-assed chorus at the end, like on OWN. Just seems like a way to excuse the fact the man can't sing the real chorus to save his life.

I think I know what you mean and it sounds naff because they finish the song when the crowd is doing the vocals as if the song was going to continue round another time. The fact is the last vocal of "livin' on a prayer'" doesn't fit over the outro they've stuck with on all live versions prior to the most recent ones. Jon dropping an octave and doing the "Woah, oh oh"s amps the song down gently as opposed to all in one go which is why it kills it.

And they stop doing that 'Little Wing' thing aswell, that added a bombast to the ending of the song. I miss that.

It's not Little Wing, I was listening to the song when I typed that message. I honestly forgot the name of the song they got it from but It's basically the last seconds of the performance here after the whoa oh oh oh♫

I hate Pryer as an opener. It works, but it belongs as either the Main-Set or encore closer IMO.
