Cameras @ shows, kinda important
I was curious to know this so I sent the Info HQ a question about digital cameras...and here's what they had to say about the subject.
Question: Can I take a digital camera to a Bon Jovi show or will it be taken away from me? My camera can record little bits of video too. And if my camera breaks before the show can I take my video camera and take digital pictures with that? asked by picture freak on Monday, January 6 Answer: We're not telling you what to do but recording the show, audio or video is illegal. Bring a disposable camera - that's your safest bet. Anything that looks like anything other than a camera you are using to take personal mementos with will be questioned. answered by BON JOVI INFO HQ on Monday, January 6 5:17 PM I don't actually have a digital camera myself but I know the new ones can record bits and pieces of video... And just on New Years Eve I witnessed a girl recording a show (not a Jovi show obviously) on audio even after she had been told not to video the gig -- she just told the security guy that she's taking digital pics with the camera (which she did) and left it rolling and thus managed to capture most of the gig on audio, even though the camera wasn't directed at the band. |

But to answer your question, NO, I am not complaining. I have no reason to complain cause like I said, I don't have a digital camera myself. And I also wasn't asking the Oompas' permission to take in my camera, I know it already that the best thing to do is to hide one's camera when going in to the venue. I was asking a precise question about digital cameras and video cameras, because I thought it might help some other fans in deciding whether to take their digi camera to a show or whether to grab a disposable one just in case. And, like I also already explained, the thing that inspired my question was my personal experience on New Year's Eve about someone using a digital video camera as an ordinary digi camera while also recording a particular gig on audio after being told not to video the gig. Happy now? |
cheer up, could be worse
