Supersonic's slightly bigger than small all mattering review on Giants #3

Aloha !

It was good, but it wasn't the best show. Night 2 was the best show, even though night 3 had the better setlist.

Some highlights:

Diamond Ring was in there because I requested it. Right before I'll Be There For You I shouted the title and Jon hesitated a little bit before the intro of the song. Then when the acoustic set was supposed to be done Jon mentioned on how this was a request. I reckon he heard it because my super awesome mega-loud voice for once overruled all the blonde bimbo's screaming next to us every time Jon moved into our direction a bit.

Dry County was better tonight, but Keep The Faith was best on night 2. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead was lovely, great party vibe in the stadium and Jon doing 2 verses of Jumpin' Jack Flash is something I've wanted him to do for ages. When the show was done I was disappointed on there being no second encore and them really not giving their all, but Jon at times was holding back, even though his voice was awesome on Faith and Dry County. He didn't do anything special on KTF or Sat. Night even though I was pretty sure he was thinking of it. Had there be no O2 shows coming up next I'm pretty sure we'd have gotten a show that was a bit more daring on his vocals, even though everyone who's complaining on his singing is a clueless gimp. Hearing Something For The Pain every night is awesome, I never got tired of hearing that one.

AND...

For the people remembering me posting on how Thierry, Tom and me doing a special dance on Crash at Twickenham back in 2008. Well, I brought the dance to America ladies and gentlemen.

So this had a good setlist, it was a very good show, but night 2 was the best show out of the 3 shows. And I can kinda understand where Americans are coming from by saying Giants is so awesome compared to the regular arena shows. It's just that the energy coming from Jon is pretty similar to the energy coming off from him at the German shows. Still, I've got no reason to complain regarding these shows. They were pretty much what I expected them to be, and everyone left satisfied.

So once again, you ****ers bitching about this and that on the Giants show. Go ****ing stand in the corner and think of your sins and leave the analyzing up to me.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Thanks Seb. Nice to see another real opinion by someone who was actually there. The amount of bitching about how this band has lost it by people who weren't there has gone into overdrive these past few days.

I've said very little because I've not arrived home yet and I'm not having my say while typing on a Droid keyboard, but it shall be forthcoming.

For now, most of the comments in the individual night threads add up to incoherent mindless babbling by those who only think they know what they are talking about. I won't be addressing those other than to say they have no idea of what they missed.

Guys, I envy you for the fun you had!!!

Sorry I didn't get to see you Seb!! And I agree, my favorite show of the three was night 2.

Can't wait to read your review Dave. I'm just sorry I didn't get to see you at the show.

Agree 100%

It was a very good show but It didnt give me the wow factor, being in the stands does not help when every ****er sits down

There was something very special about night 2, not sure what as iv heard NSG and Always before but I left the stadium on a mega high

Will prob post more about my trip later - I would def recommend Meadowlands to anyone tho, its not just about the setlists, its the whole event start to finish.

I still have to respectfully disagree with you guys. Night Two was the strongest from Jon vocally, and maybe energy wise, but Night 3 was the best all-around show of the three in my opinion.

I'm with you Brian - though I think that night 3 was also the best vocally too. Always went a little flat at the end on night 2. Though I may find some bloopers in night 3 tomorrow when I start editing it - it's still my favorite of the 3.
