Food and Drink at O2?

Hi, I'm going tonight but I'm on quite a tight budget.

I'm not moaning about ticket prices, but I paid out for A2 Row G so am now trying to keep costs down for the rest of this evening.

Does anyone know if you can get away with taking my own water and sweets into the actual arena or will they get taken off me?

A bag might get searched, something inside a jacket pocket should be fine.

How much is it for a beer? :)

They will unbottle any drinks you try and take in and pour them into glasses. They are very hot on this- you would sooner get a machete in than a bottle of coke in that place.
Drinks are expensive cinema prices- coke was £3.60 for a medium and £4.40 ish for a large.
Sweets you should be fine- if you put it in coat pockets especially. When I go they tend to search my girlfriends bag, whereas I stroll through with camera, sweets and whatnot in my pockets.
If you are planning to go to a restuarant there go early as the queues are quite long- was still busy when we arrived at about 6.15pm yesterday, but you do have until 7.30pm for the support act and 8.30pm for Jovi to start

A woman seated next to me had her own bag with water and snacks.

While we were going in (I was with Yvonne at the time), I remember one of the staff telling someone that they can take a bottle in but without the lid.

As I was coming in, they never searched me. I had no bag, but I did have a few items in my Jacket pockets. I was explaining what I had, and they interupted me in the middle and said "that's ok, just move on." Probably my MJ Tshirt put 'em off :D

Today ive bought in some butties not a problem. They glance in your bag thats all. And a beer is £4.30, just get it draught not in a bottle.

I thought I'd come back and let you know how I got on.

First:
I had an AMAZING time :D

Second:
I wore combats and put a bottle of water into each side pocket and nobody said anything.
My bag was checked but the sweets were fine.

I hope everyone had a great evening who went tonight.
