For those at last nights show

A few questions about the show:

1. How easy was it getting to and from the O2? Time wise, in the evening, I assume they have to finish at 11 on the, no going past that time??

2. Reading the reviews, the band sounded like were great. Was busy looking at the setlist coming up as I was at an Acoustic gig in belfast and although i was a little disappointed, I did think that for all teh first time fans there, it was a near perfect set.

3. Did Jon walk up the screens during 'We got it goin on?'

4. Where you disappointed, as a show for the tour 'The Circle' that there are only a handful of songs being played??

5. How do we feel that Superman is being dropped?? I love both this and LTOR and would like to hear both, plus teh jamming at the end of Thorn in my side was cool at the early part of the tour.

6. Merchandise good?

1. Piece of piss as it always is by tube for me. Got back to Dagenham at 11.45pm after they stopped singing at 11pm. Tip- on the way home, walk past the queue for the station towards the car parks and go in the front door.

2. Yep, setlist nothing special but performance was excellent.

3. He did indeed.

4. Yes, although as long as I hear plenty of them over the course of shows I attend I will be happy. I will be not happy if I dont get to hear Thorn In My Side.

5. As long as it appears occasionally its all good, same with any song really.

6. Looked ok, didnt see the prices except that the programme was a ridiculous £20.

And dont bother with the Bon Jovi photo exhibition- its just photos from the book in frames in the hallway of the BME. It beats queuing to get it in, but not by much.

They made an announcement before the gig that the last train going towards east london was something like 12:25am and the last train going towards central london was like 12:45am. Definitely take Bounce7800's advice on walking past the queue for the station towards the car parks. It's exactly what I did :)

You're absolutely correct. The Band was on Fire last night, and Jon's voice was Awesome, by far better than when they opened the Arena in 2007. You need to understand, my criticism comes after seeing the Band for the 5th time. To me, it just seemed that they were on auto-pilot and playing it safe for night 1. There's no doubt that they'll mix things up eventually. I think this show was mainly for the casual fans and the media (who have so far given good reviews).

Yes and No. But to be honest, after sleeping on it, I can understand. With a residency, it was always gonna be a risk of what we are to expect on the day(s) you attend. To this day, I don't regret going on the opening night, as we did get an energetic show. And like I mentioned before in another Thread, WWWB sounded Awesome Live compared to a few of the bootlegs I have from the First Leg of the Tour :)

I was somewhat surprised, but let's not forget we heard it when they played on the roof, so I guess we shouldn't be too disappointed there. Personally, it's not one of my favourite songs from the album anyway.

I'd say the Merchandise is average. Never paid too much attention, but I remember seeing a pink hoodie and some Trading Cards. I was expecting a bootleg CD of Instrumental/Acapellas

You should be ok Dawn. Crowd moved quite quickly to the tube from what I saw (I had a lift home but had to go through the station to reach the car park). So as long as you are quick, the tube to Stratford will be only 10 mins. Just try to see where your train will leave from so don't waste time there.

Enjoy the show tonight! I'll be following it.

Re the Merchandise...ladies tops/tshirts are from £25-30, hats I think around £20, didn't see the rest. I didn't like any of the tops that much. I'd love the O2 top but nooooo with Jon's pic in the front LOL!

No probs at all, I was home in the 'Nam by then. Most people go the other way too so the trains arent too busy.

1. O2 is one of the best big venues for getting in and out of...much better than Wembley. I've never missed my last train home (usually around 12ish) when I've left a show there. Good earlier tip on avoiding the queue for the tube...go round to the front of the tube station, much easier.

2. My first Bon Jovi show (I was a big fan up until '95 ish when I lost touch with them) and I really enjoyed it. Good mix of old classics and nice introduction to their newer stuff.

3. Can't quite remember...I think so!

4. Didn't bother me, but them I'm what you would call a casual fan I guess.

5.-ditto-

6. I thought there was a nice selection of gear for sale, alot better than some shows I've been to. Prices are always high, I say that at every concert I go to, so Bon Jovi are only really charging what every other artist does. Merchandise is where they make their money...bottom line, if you dont like it, dont buy it. I will say, there were huge lines queuing for the main merchandise stand just inside the O2 front doors. There are smaller merchandise stands inside the arena itself if you dont want to queue, though they seem to have a smaller amount of stuff at them.

If you're staying in London why not travel in style and get to and from the O2 by boat just like the band do.

London Clippers run special O2 routes up and down the Thames for as little as £12 return (with optional glass of champagne)

I've booked it, and so should you :)

*I just realised I sound like I work for them, but I don't. Honest.

Good call!!....I did one of the Prince shows in 2007 on the Clipper and it was great fun. Glass or two of champagne, Prince songs on the PA system (not sure if they will do the same for Bon Jovi, but you never know). Great way to kick start your evening!

Hi!:) I was thinking about this for the 26th, but it says the return boat leaves the O2 only fifteen minutes after the show. Is that sufficient time to get from the venue to the boat?
