What happened to the "AWESOME" European crowds?

Not to insult anyone, but for years we've read on this board how tame US crowds are compared with European ones. All the youtube videos from the O2 haven't show very enthusiastic crowds. Many people sitting down, not singing along. Not aby different from many of the US shows.

Maybe because the crowd wanna hear Jon's vocals, instead of singing the songs.

I can't stand people behind me singing the entire songs. I wanna hear the vocalist, not some stupid fan.

Best regards,
the Sexx

It's matter of opinion really. Until i go to an American show i wouldn't be able to say, but i think at the 02 this year, theres been alot more casual fans or fans who are attending their first Jovi show. I went on the 8th and the atmosphere was great, but you could tell most the people sitting near me wasn't singing to some of the more rare songs. But never the less everyone was loving the performance the guys were putting on!

The crowds have seen pretty decent from when Ive been, although the all seated is a change from the norm of Standing gigs over here.

The O2 crowds aren't necessarily representative of European Bon Jovi crowds as a whole. They're more representative of whoever can afford the ridiculous ticket prices and that's not always going to be only diehard fans. But, for what it's worth, I didn't see anyone sitting down around me on Saturday.

let me tell you on the 8th no one and I mean no one was sitting.. I couldnt believe it , I went expecting people to be boring as it is seated and not having good reviews from teh first night but everyone on the 2nd night was on their feet...

Couldn't agree more (from youtube footage and reports). No difference between US crowds and UK/EU. Some shows crowds are nuts and some not so much. I will say from DVD's I've seen in the stadiums, the EU/UK crowds were way more into it. But some USA crowds that I'v ebeen to have been the same.

I actually figured someone would say this sometime, so I recorded this small movie showing what the crowd in Paris was like during We Weren't Born To Follow, a song that was never a hit in Europe and was played even less on the radio here than in the USA. I'm sorry there's no proper sound, the mic on my phone doesn't work properly.

Like other's have said, them gigs at the O2 don't represent an average European crowd at all. This movie does.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
