Santa Friggin' Fe?!?!?!?!

OH MY JEEZ.

First I miss out on Something To Believe In.

Then Wild Is The Wind.

Diamond Ring a bunch of times.

AND NOW THE GREATEST JON SOLO SONG OF ALL TIME?!

I obviously made the wrong choice in going the final night.

To make up for me not being there tonight and seeing this baby, they better let Richie sing one of his own solo songs tommorow.

Naked.

I'm so shocked this was played.

Some of the songs they've pulled off this year are mad!

I have no complaints about this tour.

As an extra special thank you to the fans tomorrow night Bobby will play on top of the Dome.

While everyone else is inside.

Friggin' is possibly the worst word of all time.

Captain Walrus 06-26-2010 01:50 PM

Heh, I was going to make this exact same post, only with a ruder word in place of "friggin'" :D

Here's hoping for something equally as awesome tonight!

I've been holding off on watching youtubes of all the rarities so I don't spoil the surprise for (hopefully) seeing some in person, so next week its going to be fun catching up :p

Santa Fe really is the holy grail of unperformed live songs from where I sit and that one was just woken up. More evidence of clear communication to the hardcore fanbase that they are there and keeping us in mind.

He obviously rehearsed. The original studio track is my favorite from the album, but I did reach a point in the last few years while listening to it that I actually was a bit irritated by the in-your-face-drunken-passion driven-bender style of the vocals. I just found myself wanting to hear a mellow version of it.... this is exactly what I envisioned, no B.S.

You all do know now... not to hype anyone up, that is really is very possible that we may get a full-on electric performance of this song with blazing vocals? Jon does seem to be on a self-discovery path that focuses on the music again and has been going on since Lost Highway. If he feels connected to it again, he may pursue bringing it to life further. Never Say Die and Bang A Drum both had justice done to them, there is likely to be more on the way.

For this format and point in the show, his delivery of the vocals is perfect.... it's natural to want to hear him start belting out when his original vocal delivery is so highly regarded, but it wasn't the time or place.

It may still happen.

Great post!! I only have to say that I adore the "in-your-face-drunken-passion driven-bender style of the vocals" :P

Obviously, I *had* to hug Florin at that point. (We had only met an hour so before)

But you are (v. slightly) wrong. Bang a Drum is THE GREATEST.
