Cheaper Seats Question
 

Ok,thought I would ask this..
I have bought 2 gold tix to see the guys in Melbourne (for me and hubby - his first Bon Jovi show) @$150 each.

They aren't the best seats (of course) but I can't justify spending lots of money on concert tickets. I know there are a lot of you out there who have bought the "cheaper" seats too.
For those that have been to the shows already eg O2,
did you regret not spending more? or
did you still have a fantastic time and knowing the back of your mind that you paid what you could afford and don't have to worry about paying off a huge concert debt (I know of a person who was taking out a loan for tickets).
Was the atmosphere still fantastic even if you weren't front and centre?

I know it is a huge stage setup and they have the big screens, and we are on the lowest level but toward the back of the stadium.

Just curious on everyones experiences.

I had a *much* better time from the back of the third tier at Giants Stadium in the cheapest possible seat in 2001 than I did when I paid inflated 2007 prices to be in the sixth row at the opening of the o2. No question about it.

And if there's *any* band that knows how to communicate with every person in a large stadium it's Bon Jovi.

Did I regret spending more? No. I would never go into 3 figures for a ticket, £85 was about the limit, especially if I am going with someone else- its hard to ask someone to stump up the best part of a ton to go and see my favourtie band.

I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to floor seats on one night and had an amazing time, but for most of the others I was in the gods and for the most part had a great time. The views were still mostly good, especially the side on ones, and I had a great time with the different people I went with. Id personally rather spend £300 going to 7/8 concerts in the upper tier than 1 at the front. Ive been down the front, its great, but its all about the music and its all about just being there for me. For others, its the experience of being at the front, and it is a great one that I would love to do again, but I cant be financially irresponsible in these current times.

I got the gold seats last time which were a bit less than they were this time around, and still had a good time despite being surrounded by people who stopped listening to Bon Jovi in 1989. It was my first show.

This time around I forked out for diamond section (likely for the first and last time based on current trends :roll:), probably against my better judgment. However I figure Jon's voice is a lot better than it was when I was buying tix for the LH tour; I'm going alone; only attending one show; and most importantly don't have to worry about things like groceries and mortgages (living with the folks has its perks) -- so it's not like I'm going into concert debt.

When you're in a stadium unless the seats are in the first 20 or so rows you'll be far away. When I saw them in Giants in 2006 I thought I had amazingly close Lowers right next to the stage row 11 and they still looked like ants compared to that view from an arena. Same thing happened when I saw Bruce at giants in the LL. If you already bought the tickets don't worry about it but for stadiums unless you have tons of money with good luck I wouldn't worry about getting close.

I always buy "cheap" tickets, and I love every moment of it. Only thing you need to be ready for are assholes around you who tell you to sit down.

i'm in gold this time simply bc the other tickets are waaaaay too out of price range. the only thing i'm wary of is the "sit down" people who i can't stand. hope there's none of that at a jovi show. i've only ever been in general admin :-?

Guys, the more expensive tickets would be within your price range if you'd saved up, instead of waited at the last moment.

If you are disappointed with not getting better seats, then its your own fault, no offense.
As soon as the tour was announced, I started saving. I had over $400 when I bought my tickets in the Diamond Arena. I would never settle for Gold or Silver seats - why sit that far back when you can't even see the band? They'd be like ants!

If I hadn't saved and wanted to buy a ticket, I would have had to buy Silver tickets, and I would have been peeved off at that. My saving paid off, I have one of the best seats in the house, and I even had enough money left over to put aside for merch!

That said, if you are happy with your Gold and Silver seats then that's great, but remember your seats could be a heck of a lot better if you'd started saving the second you heard about the tour. $5 a week could have gotten you Platinum seats or better.

I spent lots on tickets this tour and I still could have bought more expensive tickets but I won't as I refuse to pay $2000 to sit front row. However that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to be front row just that I cannot justify to myself spending that much on a couple of hours entertainment.

Everyone buys the tickets they can either afford or justify to themselves.

I hope everyone is happy with their seats, its better than not being there.
