Supersonic's short all mattering review on Giants Night #4

Aloha !

This was the worst Bon Jovi show I've ever been to. It beats Nijmegen performance wise because Richie kept making mistakes, and it beats Twickenham because it was just so ****ing boring. Jon wasn't singing in the same tempo as the rest of the band was, he skipped lines several times, and his voice cracked a few times as well. Richie messed up during HAND big time, the whole band didn't know what to do and after that had happened Jon refused to look at Richie until he grabbed his shoulder during WFTWM and looked him in the eye while almost killing his shoulder with his bare hands. During IML he pointed at Richie while singing "make no mistakes" and during Who Says when they shared the mike they refused to look eachother in the eye. It really was that bad that if I had been Richie I'd have grabbed Jon by the balls and would never, ever accept that, just like I don't tolerate such behaviour from my boss.

Further on; The crowd wasn't into it at all, the setlist was wrong on pretty much every level. The encore was just appaling and then during Glad All Over Jon's leg started to hurt a lot and he started to limp. He needed to hold on to the white mike stand in order to be able to stand up. There's no way more songs were going to get played anyway, he did the usual "I'm not going anywhere" lines, but Prayer was planned. I even think I Love This Town was done instead of another planned song but I'm not 100% sure about that. After having played so many different songs of which Jon knows they go over well everywhere (Let It Rock, Wild In The Streets) Jon didn't pick any of them and instead just played a very Jon orientated setlist which no one cared about.

This show never rocked and like I texted to Carli: This is why people love Bruce but like Jon. Jon is all talk and no action, while Bruce shows passion for his crowd and passion for his songs.

Pathetic.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Oh man, this is sooooooo NOT good. :( My next show is in one week and I sure hope they step up their game.

Wow. I wasn't there, but I'm glad. I hope this isn't how the rest of this leg will be. That just sounds rough. You would think that they would be in a good mood because this is THEIR crowd and THEIR home turf. I guess both Jon and Richie woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

WOW. That's utterly pathetic. That's a new low for a JBJ Tantrum. I'm so sick of him having his fits about other people ****ing up, especially on a night where he sucks to begin with. If I was Richie and if he pulled that shit during IML I would have broken his leg myself. **** that.

Looking forward to hear or see a bootleg of this show :D.

Ha, agreed. Ladies and gentlemen, looks like a few fortunate board members have just witnessed Hull America.

TwinFan 07-10-2010 08:49 AM

This might be almost acceptable if Richie made mistakes all the time, but he doesn't very often. Jon shouldn't be throwing a fit like a little 3 year old. If anything have a little fun with it. Jon is a perfectionist without a doubt.
