New Jersey shows, well setlists, this year...

Just wondering why they cannot play super rare songs here, anyone got any ideas? I saw 3 out of the 4, don't get me wrong those were spectactular, loved the stadium, fireworks, performance was great but they didnt give the fans one WOW song moment. Enjoyed hearing Living in Sin, Always, DC(twice) etc but they were all played at MSG 2 years previously.

They could have easily tried out Let it Rock before coming to London, opening song from their biggest selling record would have gone down a storm. Fine(well not fine really) if they don't wanna risk KTF and TD album tracks so give us some super rare shit from NJ or SWW like 99 in the shade, Stick to your guns, Love for sale etc

I then saw 4 shows in London and got to hear over 10 gems, many of which i've never heard live in nearly 40 gigs. I'm honestly not bragging when I say that, I just think NJ fans are getting short changed.

Just annoys me as Jon knows fans travel far and wide for these shows, yet he blags them off with, what really has been 4 (3 albeit very good performances)greatest hits setlists. Jons not giving the fans the respect they deserve IMHO.

Sometimes, I count myself lucky that I live in London. At current, I've never been to a show outside London, and it seems that for the the 8 current shows I've been to (5 at The O2, 4 this year) I'm more blessed than some of the diehards that have been fans more longer than I have.

Now I'm re-thinking whether I should risk ever seeing them in the states. It looks as though Europe will always have the best setlist :(

No I would def recommend them Mo (and if you dont believe me have a word with Kev!), like I said I really enjoyed the 3 I saw in NJ, the performances, esp on night 2, were fantasic. I'm just raising the point about the absence of rare songs that Jons seemed so determined to include for the o2.

Of course, performance-wise nothing will beat the states, especially if when they play MSG, Philly, and NJ.

I dunno.....it just seems that apart from the energetic performances, I won't be missing much. Perhaps for the performances alone plus the atmosphere, I should consider it one day.

And you should add Toronto to that list. I was lucky to be at 3 TO shows in 2006 and they really blew me away and the past Giants shows in 2003 and 2006 were equally great.

I have no idea why they have to resource to a standard setlist these days. Could be there are more casual fans than die-hard ones? Bored? Who knows what goes in Jon's mind. Maybe he knows that because they are in their hometown people would love them no matter what they sing/play. I have no idea Carli but I am glad I wasn't there. I'd have felt the same as in Hull years ago or Twickenham.

Every single band has a 'standard' setlist for a tour ... U2, Metallica, Bryan Adams, Muse, The Eagles, AC/DC, Prince, ...

Exept for Bruce, I don't think anyone changes more then Jovi so what the f... are we bragging about. Through the years it seems many fans have become so blinded and taking their own dreams as a reality.

Tell me in what tour had all these different setlists ... it just never happened. Never.
So far they have been opening up with 5 different songs if i'm correct : blood on blood, happy now, LMS, Raise your hands and I believe one show had even a different opener ...

Ain't that special?
They have been playing around 70 different songs this tour? (whili about 24 songs per night) ... ain't that enough change?

Start getting real.... It's a choice they make to be playing a bundle of songs each night. If you don't like it, that's just a personal choice. And if from one night to another there are like 4 to 5 different songs, that's not bad at all.

This kinda seems like their standard setlist. They open up with one of the above 7 songs (usually Blood on Blood), followed by We Weren't Born To Follow, followed by Bad Name. In These Arms and Superman Tonight are usually within their first 10 songs. Bad Medicine is usually about 5-6 songs before the encore, and always includes a cover song. The last song before the encore is Keep The Faith, and the encore usually consists of Wanted and the last song is almost always Prayer.
