ill be there sung by jon
its amazing how it actually sounds weird ! I'm so used to see videos of richie singing it lol
|
I'm glad they've gone back to Jon singing it!!! He does a great Job with it too!!
Richie did Justice to the song and made it his own and it rocked, but it was time for a change, now if only he could make Homebound Train his regular, or even play a solo song once or twice it would be like the icing on the cake!! I know it goes over well, but I just don't like Richie doing LYHOM, it just doesn't suit his voice (imho of course) |
yeah LYHOM suits jon better. they should do stranger on a nightly basis, IMO. i'd like to believe I'm gonna live to see stranger in this town live.

Surprisingly, IBTFY has been the song I've enjoyed the most from the shows I've been to this tour. Its nice to hear Jon sing it for a change.

I've never thought Lay Your Hands On Me came across well in a live setting musically regardless of who sings it. Although, the crowd overall re-acted to Richie singing it better than I thought. |
No one but Jon should sing IBTFU. Stranger is a great song but live it bores me. I think if he did it the beer breaks would start. I'd rather hear HT too. LYHOM was gospel in 1989. I loved it as a show opener.

We all know Richie should be doing Ballad of Youth.

I would prefer a Richie solo song like Rosie (not the best of his solo stuff, but the most effective in a band show IMO.) But I can understand why LYHOM works so well. It's well-know enough that the crowd is into it, but obscure enough (compared to the other hits) that the crowd won't be disappointed that Jon's not singing it.
In any case, while I don't like it every night, I actually don't mind Richie's LYHOM. |
