Typical review of a Bon Jovi show
I'll just post this one part, as it's all that needs to be said:
Bon Jovi opened with two songs from "The Circle" - "Blood On Blood," a dramatic anthem of nostalgia, friendship and fidelity from the new record, followed by "We Weren't Born to Follow," which included a video montage with inspirational figures including President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Winston Churchill, Desmond Tutu, Lance Armstrong and the Wright Brothers. While the sentiments were admirable enough, it felt rather mannered - certainly the following "You Give Love a Bad Name" felt like a breath of fresh air. |
You think they gave the reviewer the news that Blood on Blood is a 22 year old song?

My candidate for the most "typical" Bon Jovi concert review ever:
"When Bon Jovi is THIS hot, they're smoking." It LOOKS like a compliment, but is it really? Methinks that either the band WAS smoking hot or they weren't. And if they WERE smoking hot, why not simply WRITE "Bon Jovi were smoking hot?" Because you didn't want to admit it? Because it would have offended your superior musical sensibilities to give your due to a band that isn't a critical darling? Because your editor wouldn't like it? http://www.drycounty.com/jovitalk/im...cons/icon8.gif |
Mainstream journalism is a joke these days, especially in the US.
My favorite headline of the week: "Angelina Jolie's 'Salt' seasons the box office". Are you kidding me? |
Crack editorial staff at that publication.
