Japan Setlists Question

Ok - i may be breaking my self-imposed until-the-last-night-of-the-tour hiatus, but i have a long shot possibility of seeing them in Japan....

now, my thought would be night 2 obviously from the pattern so far...(though i feel they may rip our TR nite 1 which would be AWEEEEESOME)

from a purely setlist point of you - assuming the band is on fire in the asias....

will they play a standard set or do the Japanese fanatics get a great show...and does anyone know if it is being filmed for the TV there and what impact that has? In the past i feel like sometimes that led to rarer songs but more recently turns into a festival setlist...

thx!

I'm thinking Night 1 will be Auto-Pilot. Having said that, if I was from Japan, I'd be attending both shows, as I think each show will have some sort of gem for Japanese fans.

Well, on the Asian leg of the LH tour it was a pretty plain set until the last night when they pulled out a few of the lesser seen songs e.g. Livin in Sin, Raise Your Hands, Just Older and Stanger in This Town. So the last night seems the best bet based on the previous tour.

I think Japan stopped being anyhow special to them. When I look at the setlists - they play the same standart with very few rare songs. The last special shows were on the OWN tour. There is less and less shows with next tour... I don't know what has happened..?..?

Last few times they always seem to be ill or pick up colds and flu on the way and had pretty standard setlists, don't know if its a combination of the jet lag or something.

I was going to point out the same thing in response to Johny's post. I still think there are chances for special sets in Japan. The sets in 2001 contained surprises for the most part as well as 2003. 2006 as we all know was when Richie was injured and 2008, Jon and Richie were both sick and out of breath.

I'm also somewhat surprised that the only dates for Japan are two in Tokyo. I would of thought that they would at least hit Osaka as well but I guess there's still time to put more dates up?

I expect a lot of The Circle songs in the set and very little ballads. Mainly because of an Asian crowd. Japanese people are very polite and they're not going to shit about new songs and they're to calm to be screaming to Jon and singing their asses off, so there's no point to do something like Always or Bed Of Roses. Hallelujah would be enough.

Even the '08 shows had some decent setlists.
