It's surprising that you said that. I thought for those who love their 80s anthems the best, TILTIL is more up your alley.

I wouldn't lump "What Do You Got" into this list (because its quite different) but did anyone find this lyric funny -

"How many songs we gotta sing about it."

In relation to all the "It's My Life" clones done by the band.

You mean, the ENTIRE 30 seconds you've heard, or just a small part?

Heres my 10 second theory:
  • Crossroad had one upbeat mid-tempo song (Sat Night) and one big ballad (Always).
  • GH2 might work on the same theory - WDYG being the upbeat mid tempo song and No Apologies is potentially the ballad.
  • If that presumption is true, Bon Jovi's record of ballads in the last 10 years in patchy, So we'll probably get an LH style Ballad like MAM or something reminiscent of AALY/TYFLM (If they feel like going a bit more dramatic).
  • Judging by the country stylings of the other GH songs, I'd be on the look out for a ballad that sounds like a LH demo.
  • If that assumption is correct, it may not be a bad thing, LH had some of the best ballads in a few years.

So my ultimate point, No Apologies might not suck balls, MAM was sort of successful as a single, something in that vein might have similar success again.

It's a long shot I know but it kinda makes sense, I can see Jovi going back to LH resembling stuff after the percieved "failure" of the circle.

I hope it's not MAM part 2! That is their most awful ballad and first single ever! I'd take All About Lovin You over that crap.

I think What Do You Got? is the ballad. Call me crazy...

thenickeljovifan 09-17-2010 06:45 PM

I for one think TYFLM is one of the best Jovi ballads.

THANK YOU!!!!! That song is very under appreciated, maybe because there had been so many hit Jovi ballads at that point, but I've always loved it and thought the sentiment came across as being really geniune, even if it was inspired by a movie. Jon's only achieved this in his ballads only twice since imo (open all night and Make a Memory)

I haven't read this whole thread so apologies if this has been asked.

But the versions of the songs that are on the bands facebook page, are they the versions that are gonna be on the album?
Cos Blood on Blood is live on there.
