Yeah, so am I. It's a weird decision. But you pinpointed three post-2000 songs. :)

TwinFan 09-12-2010 07:13 PM

9 of the songs on the album were on Cross Road. The only songs that weren't are Born To Be My Baby (which had every right to be), IML, Who Says, WWBTF, and HAND.

I also can't get over why there's no KTF or These Days songs. I guess I kinda understand why there's no These Days, as it wasn't as popular over here, but why not KTF? Bed of Roses and Keep the Faith have been popular and have been in nearly every setlist since. (Well, at least KTF has been.)

Also, the Bon Jovi page has gotten like 100,000 new fans since they released the last track to the public, and they haven't released a "sneak peak" of any new songs. And also the LYHOM video on there is only 1 minute long. It's frustrating.

Captain_jovi 09-12-2010 07:28 PM

Unless the track listings are different for each country, or such, this is ridiculous. It doesn't make sense to have a tracklisting like this to appeal to Europeans.

Because it's unusual for Bon Jovi to f*ck something like this up? It's common place. They're the leaders in bullshitting their fans.

I suppose that's true. It's just strange how they were quick to get up the other tracks, but these ones have took awhile. It's almost like they're afraid to release them. Maybe they're that bad.:?

And they also take like 2 weeks to put a video on YouTube that was released on their website.

Oh it was totally calculated like that. They know people want to hear the new stuff the most so they do it last so everyone works their ass off to do their job for them. It has zip to do with quality.

I can understand that, but it said for every 10000 new fans they get, they will release something. Well since they unveiled the last track, there's been about 50000 new fans, and no sign of nothing new.

steel_horse75 09-13-2010 12:12 AM

really suprised no KTF or TD stuff.

In UK KTF is always on the radio and music video channels - more than any other Jovi song.

Very strange.

If Obie has anything to do with it, that would be the answer.

It does nothing for the band other than make Jon look bad. Then again, he's so far past caring what any of us thinks.

steel_horse75 09-13-2010 12:14 AM

Also Dry County is one of their best 5 songs. How did this not make? crazy.

A great song, yes, but one that casual fans remember? Or a staple in setlists? Sadly not. Not to mention they'd have to use the single edit of the song in order to rationalise the rest of the disc space for other songs. Plus the single edit doesn't do the song anywhere near enough justice as the full version anyway so may seem pointless.

As much as I love Dry County, I don't think I'd even want it on a greatest hits album because for me (and for alot of people here) it's the real highlight of the Keep The Faith album and to included it on a greatest hits would kinda de-merit it's mother album. It would be like Def Leppard including Gods Of War (from the Hysteria album) on one of their best-of's.

That's the truth. Obie isn't exactly the most punctual person on Earth, it seems. And he's always behind this type of stuff.

If Jon cared what we think, Bon Jovi, would still have #1 hits and wouldn't charge a fortune for seats in the nosebleed section.

But we all don't want the same thing. And what we want doesn't equal what the general public wants. There aren't enough of "us" to warrant number 1 hits.

I guess you're right. I want another album like Crush or Bounce. Others want another SWW or NJ. Others want another album like The Circle. And so on. Bon Jovi is doing what they think the casual radio listener wants, as has happened with WDYG.

In my opinion, they tried to be too many things to too many people. Now they're having trouble pleasing everyone and it's all backfiring.

Jay Jay 09-13-2010 05:06 AM

I agree. They should go back to the style of music they created between the years of 85-95, as that was the real Bon Jovi. That was the Bon Jovi that people fell in love with. That Bon Jovi didnt jump on anybody's bandwagon.

85 to 95 Bon Jovi is like...3 different bands though.

Jay Jay 09-13-2010 05:44 AM

That's evolution of the band. What we got after that was Jon trying to fit in and being swayed to change the sound, to try and stay relevant.

A Little off of the regular talk here, but...

What Do You Got debuted at #46 on Americas Hot AC Charts this week.

Crushgen24/88 09-13-2010 07:47 AM

Just a question, cause I might be missing it:
Where on FB (or anywhere) does it say that those are the single disc tracks, and not the overall 2 disc package?

Because BOR, TD and KTF weren't included.

Best regards,

good, maybe it has a chance to creep into the the top 10 from now until the GH2 is released.....

Not that the Hot AC matters much though :?

At the facebook page, now we have added: Lost Highway, Saturday Night (International version), In These Arms, and What do you got?.

Should they belong to any of the discs (it´s unclear), what is true is that 12 out of the 18 revealed were already on the 15 of Crossroads.

What is the International Version? I thought there was a US version and a Japanese version.

I love how theres no LH either  Did they not think its good enough to go on?

Runaway and BOG on disk one seems a bit random too.

Living In Sin got left off? Yeah, not a greatest hit. It was only a top 10 single. And 2 albums get completely ignored?

Lost Highway and When We Were Beautiful have no place on this collection. That's all Jon. And it's stupid. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Dumbass move having a 1 disc edition.

KeepTheFaith2211 09-14-2010 12:55 AM

I'd have left 'Lay Your Hands' off of disc one. Replace it with 'Lost Highway'.

Lay Your Hands On Me was a massive single/video for the band. Did Lost Highway even crack the top 100?

For those who have preordered the album (if there are any), is TIOH any longer or have a guitar solo, or is it the same version they played in Regina?
