Bon Jovi SHM-CD's. Are they worth it?

New to posting on forum, but long time reader.

Has anyone bought the Japan SHM-CD's? Is the sound quality actually better than the 98 remasters? Are they worth it? Also, have you loaded them into an ipod? Does it still sound better?

Just seems like a scam to me, but still very nice packaging.

They dont have a big market outside Japan as not may people want to pay $35
for a CD. I havent noticed any difference in sound quality , I have like about4-5 of them.
The packaging is nice and CD supposed to last longer than regular CDs

If you're going to compress them to MP3 anyway then it's a waste of money.

If I have the cash to spare, I'd get them, but I don't, so I won't.

Good point about compressing them. I bought the "Tour Box" from Japan. Dude had it for $99 free shipping on ebay. Every Jovi album on SHM for $99 hope at least it sounds a little better...beats the hell out of $299....plus AAA on DVD....

Did you buy from the person with a low feedback number? If so, have you gotten it yet? I'd be very interested to hear how the transaction went/goes. I've been tempted, but I usually don't buy something that's more than a few bucks from overseas if the person isn't a long-established seller.

Terri- I felt the same way as you...saw a guy selling for only $60 but from Hong Kong with low feedback...so I steered clear...this had positive feedback over 1,000 buys and was from California (im from jersey)...so i gave it a shot...i also emailed him and asked to clarify that this was what it seemed to be...he said it was.....just won today...i'll let you know how it goes...

That $60 seller was exactly the one I was concerned about. Good to hear that there was another person with a good price. I'll have to search a little more. I hope your transaction goes smoothly! I'd definitely love to hear the final outcome.

Definitely! Would you be willing to PM me the seller's eBay user ID?

Pstmatt 08-27-2010 12:06 AM

Sure. However, all you have to do is just search ebay "Completed Listings" for Bon Jovi "Japanese Box Set" You'll see it up there. Just ended today. $99.
