End of summer bash raided by the fuzz

Whether you're a fun loving teenager or one of the biggest rock stars in the world, one essential truth is constant: Nothing ruins a great party like having the cops show up.

In a scene straight out of every teenagers-having-a-party movie ever made (see: Party, House; or Bad, Super), police raided an end-of-summer party thrown this past Labour Day weekend by none other than Jon Bon Jovi.

The Living on a Prayer rocker decided to go all out in saying goodbye to the sunny season this year by hosting a massive bash and inviting all of his rowdy friends over in New York's posh Hamptons area. You might not have been there, but Jack Nicholson was - and so were the cops after (jealous?) uninvited neighbours called to complain.

The party was winding up as Jon Bon made the call to end the soiree with a bang by staging a fireworks display alongside the performance of a few classics by the New Jersey rockers.� All was well until the cops knocked on the door.

The New York Post reports that the 48-year-old rocker saved the day by inviting the lawmen in to watch the encore.

As a former editor, this article wins my "You Give Journalism A Bad Name" award.

The headline said "cops RAID." The story says "cops VISIT" and they stayed to watch the encore, which they most certainly would NOT have done it there was something raid-worthy going on. (On the other hand, this IS the Hamptons.) Headlines are supposed to be snappy and eye-catching, but NOT to the point of totally contradicting the story!

I wish I had been there, would have been awesome!

So you should seek employment in police corps:) If you raid BJ's party you will have a chance to be invited to listen to the encore during his private show.
I hope you will remember then about us, the old friends and write a comprehensive review so that we could have an insight into this awesome event;)
