Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - JOVI'S ON THE NOMINATION LIST!

Holy crap, I wasn't sure they'd actually get this far considering the politics of it!

Alice Cooper is WAY overdue for induction. I'm glad to see the J. Geils Band on the list, too. Of course, there are several on the list that I wouldn't even let visit the place much less be inducted! ;)

Yay for nomination but they won't get inducted.

Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame is a joke. It's not about rock, it's about Rolling Stone editors deciding on who they like.

It's certainly a compliment that they were nominated the "instant" they became eligible, but I think that's as far as they'll get, especially since Alice Cooper has been waiting for his nomination since 1994.

Only Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles have gotten in the year they became eligible. Bruce Springsteen was inducted the following year; Kiss, eligible since 1999, are STILL waiting. And speaking of politics (what do LL Cool J and Chic have to do with Rock and Roll?), the Ramones probably wouldn't have gotten in as "quickly" as they did if half of them hadn't died!

Sorry, but they did not get nominated the "instant" they were eligible. That would have been for the 2009 class, so they were passed over for nomination twice. And I think we all realize that induction is a long shot. They've never been the darlings of the right crowd. THAT's why we're amazed by the nomination.

It's also about hoping that their inductees and exhibit subjects will be "grateful" enough to donate money, hence their Michael Jackson and Madonna "tributes".

Sorry, I was thinking about Slippery, not their debut album! http://www.rocktivity.com/Graphics/blush.gif
