The problem with Sydney

I really really really hate to be a downer here, but don't you think that because its 3 shows in a row that Jon will most likely play pretty concervatively the first 2 nights and then (as its the last show of the Austalian Tour) he might spend the rest of his (which might not be a lot... he could be "tired") energy on the last day? I really wish there was at least a day between the 2nd last show and the last one. I hope to be proven wrong though!!!

As long as they play BOBITA in the show I'm going to, that's the most important brotha! :)

I somewhat agree with you which is why I made sure I got a ticket for the last night show :D

I dont mind a vanilla setlist the first show if they do a mega awesome one on night 3.

Yeah the 2nd show is always the best one to go to. They always seem to hold back a little the first show and want to out do the first show with the second for the fans who go to both. I did that with U2. I've just got tickets for the 2nd show. I haven't got Jovi tickets yet, as I'm not sure where I'm gonna be because I'll be travelling the East Coast when they're here. If I'm back in Melbourne I may see if I can pick up a ticket for the Rod Laver show.

Fans always think about this stuff, but beleive me, they wouldn't arrange X concerts in X dates if they can't give 100% in each and every concert.

Bullshit, they very rarely give 100% at any concert. And the only reason they set up multiple concerts is money. If they can fill an arena 3 times, they will. If they can't they won't. Look at the O2 shows. 100% every night? I doubt that.

The band performances is up to the crowd performance. Do an unforgetable performance to them, and they will do the same for you.
Just look at South America...

I kinda see what your saying having played in a band and done a few gigs myself. The crowd doesmake a difference but it doesn't come completely down to that. There's some nights when you're just not at your best and it's that simple. Sometimes you may be tired, under the weather, the singers voice may be shot from previous gigs. There are many factors to take into account.

That is really not good. Audience already paid a lot of money. Band should perform a great show. It's not like the ticket price is $1.

I kinda feel the same way. People have already paid for the show and most of them over 100 dollars. They should get everything the band has to offer. But I understand the crowd situation cause I have been playing and touring with my band for over a year now... The reaction of the crowd is very important and it will easily get you down if they don't give a shit about the song that means a lot to you. When the crowd is singing along, jumping and enjoying the band just want to go on and keep up the atmosphere by playing unexpected songs and longer set. And that was the deal for example in Sao Paulo. And everyone knows how Jon can be like. He has said that Lost Highway and Who Says are very important and one of the best songs he has ever written so when crowd doesn't seem to be thrilled about those songs being played it can change Jons feelings towards the whole show. He is still a human and things like that effects the same way on us than those big rockstars.

Of course there are more factors like Jons mood overall, the weather, some of the band member being sick, being tired of yesterdays gig or the long tour. But as we've seen even on this tour, if they play two or more shows in one town, the last show seems to please the most. Like for example in New Meadowlands. Maybe it's because it is easy to think that in the first show there will be people who aren't that big fans and they just want to see the show and maybe hear Prayer and Always. And I understand the situation in countries they don't visit that often. But when you visit the state of city you'll do on every tour it's not needed to play the "greatest hits" set every time on the first night. And it's the same situation with places they visit on every tour but only has one show. So for example here in Finland they've been here now two times in 21st century and have played very safe and expected sets both times. So I'm already waiting if they are coming here next summer to hear some rarities cause Finland is so small country, only five million people here so everyone who has just wanted to see a big rock show has had his/her opportunity already.... so c'moon shake up the set list God damn Jon! The people who just want to hear Prayer aren't worth to treat that well. The people you should treat well with nice set lists are us, the biggest fans :)

Little off the topic but still;)
