Question to anyone who was at the Santiago show ..

I was wondering about something today
To all those who were at the Santiago 's show did the guys make any reference or had any words about the trapped miners when they did their show in Santiago?
Usually they are aware of the news and situation inside the country they are visiting and they often show respect or pay tribute or do something if needed (I recall for example Jon wearing the Joker tee shirt in Melbourne just after Heath Ledger 's death .. it was not a long speech but the message was imo very sincere and touching )

I didn't hear anything about it, but I don't know for sure of course.

I would suggest if you want to find out from someone that was there, to perhaps find in Youtube a clip from that show, and ask the poster.

Erm, it was pretty hard to miss the news regarding the miners, they didn't have to be in that country for that. And what was he supposed to do? Dedicate Livin' On A Prayer to the miners because they surely must be living on a prayer by now? It's pointless.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

its a question I don't need your validation (ok I took pointless remark as my question is pointless - in the case of doing anything was pointless then I disagree...)
if it's good to customize their show i wonder if they customized the santiago show with a kudos for the miners .. jon is a good talker he could have say something that would have genuinely moved the audience
I would rather have him talk about the miners than if he is married on the chilean laws ..
he made a speech about the oil spil he knows how to be serious sometimes

Similar observation was made when Michael Jackson died, and Jon playing in Milwaukee, didn't mention it. Granted, he was there to play not to comment on the daily news, but people (or obviously at least some people), would have taken those comments in a very positive way, making Jon even more engaging to that particular audience. And I personally didn't get upset he didn't, but I would have appreciated the gesture, why not?

Perhaps was not on that day script. :p

Bon Jovi aren't U2. They don't use their concerts as a platform to comment on specific things or current news. The closest they have truly come is Jon's speeches before WWWB and LTOR.

In Denmark 2008 Jon made a long speech before they played "Undivided" about what was happening in the world at the moment and "americas new hope" Obama.
