Ticket Prices
Hi everyone, i haven't logged in since May 2009, mainly due to being abroad since June 2009 in Europe and Thailand.
I missed The Circle tour but i have to admit i'm slowly and surely getting more and more jaded with the ticket prices and the introduction of the Diamond Circle is stupid. Lets not forget that people paid a fortune for tickets on the HAND tour and jon does not care how much money you spend, if he has a bad night, so do you, Hull is proof of that. I really feel for the people who love this band so much that they will wipe out there bank account and max their credit card to hear Jon sing about working for the working man!!! its irony in the strongest sense, i lost faith in the band a long time ago now, they became too predictable and although i will always love the music, you won't find me camping or buying tickets unless they take their heads out of their arses. |
I said that this time last year when the O2 ticket prices were announced.
Thing is, 2 weeks before the gigs, I went and spent £400 on two front row seats...... That said, it was the best BJ gig I've been to since 2000, not that it justified the money spent. However, I won't be even considering it for next year - but that's because the dates/venues aren't viable for me. |
Aloha !
With prices like these they think they're making it hard on the scalpers yet they seem to forget that people aren't willing to pay these prices at all. The concert market collapsed this year in America and Bon Jovi were selling tickets for 12.50 in Chicago. The same will happen in Europe now, the O2 being the perfect example for that. In order to not having the huge gaps on the field they upgraded pretty much everyone who was interested. I'll have a blast buying tickets this tour, as I'll probably spend an average of 70E on a ticket from a scalper or on eBay. I did this in 2008 1 time only I regretted ever since that I didn't do it more often. They're ruining their own market, and if I start to think this way surely more people will think this way, resulting in less interest from people at the start of the presale, hence them not getting the money they want and having to lower their prices. Ebay and ticket touts can be great for some gigs.
Went to Green Day @ MK Bowl in 2006 for less than half face value - purchased on ebay. Went to Eminem @ MK Bowl too and bought tickets from a tout just minutes before he came on stage - £10 each! S**t gig, but had to experience it. When BJ played MK on the HAND tour we went up to the Bowl on the Saturday night to soak up the atmosphere (we only live 10 mins away). Set up a little tent outside and took the kids. Again, 5 mins before they came on stage, my wife managed to get a ticket for £10...... then took our daughter in for free! |
Because of the ticket prices, this will be the first tour since 1988 that I'm gonna miss. Getting to the front used to mean spending hours and hours waiting outside of the venue, running inside and getting in the pit, now it's all about Fanclub and paying ridicolous amounts of money to be up front.
I'm with Seb on this one, I will wait for prices to go down or scalpers. If that fails, oh well, then it's my loss. I'm definately not paying the prices Jovi is charging. At O2, Jon blamed the promotor, what's your excuse this time, greedy Jonny boy? |
jon did once qoute that the only thing he loves more then his wife is his money or something like that.
Jon is like the marks and spencer of the band out of touch with his fanbase and doesn't care |
I got golden circle for Manchester, and the prices are the same as they were in 2008 for the same show (well, different venue, but the same city). Sure, there are more expensive ones available, but these ones were about the same.

In all seriousness I wondered this myself so just decided to get a £50 seat for Manchester and £50 GA ticket for Scotland, not gonna pay an extra £15 for the same thing lol |
Yesterday Take that + Robbie tickets went on sale, no matter what yu think of the band the demand is phenomenal here. Ticket sites were still down 7 hrs after they went on sale. They could have charged everyone £200 and sitll sold out. Yet their tickets are £60 no diamond, golden, silver or whatever you call them circles either.
Bon Jovi are slowly killing their fan base, the quality of (new) music is going down whilst the prices are going up. Jon has def changed - he did an interview in 93 on the big breakfast saying that the reason he set up the fan club with his mum, was to make sure "teenage girls wernt getting ripped off" yet that same FC now are just as bad as touts on ebay. I agree with Seb, i'm not stressing about tickets. The 02 taught me that, I didnt buy one ticket when they went on sale but still got to 4 shows easily enough. |
