Be Cooler To Your Fans

I know this will get tossed aside as another bashing thread, but why can't the band just be cooler to their fans and offer the new songs as individual downloads on iTunes and Amazon, etc.?

I say this as somebody who got my pre-order Ultimate Collection cd in the mail yesterday. I say this as a guy who loves the music and has bought almost everything the band has put out (plus, as a guy who saw the band twice live just this year).

Look, I understand capitalism, really, I do. But with not offering individual downloads and the soaring cost to see the band live ... it's just starting to get to be too much.

Dear Bon Jovi, your fans are loyal (to a fault sometimes), please stop taking advantage of us and taking us for granted.

No bonus codes for a pre-order concert ticket either? Some cd's from other artists offered that, I remember. Is there a nice booklet inside?
Well...I'm really holding back on this one.....sorry to the band.

I'll just listen to what I already have.

^nice booklet inside? Umm, no. Just a list of the songs and maybe one crappy picture. The pictures under the two CD's are of the band, Jon looking oh so serious in each one. He never smiles in the promos anymore.

This tends to happen when a band/record company is pushing for an album to chart highly. Usually the tracks end up available in a couple weeks time.

All I can say is there is an overwhelming sense of entitlement going on around here. Last time I checked there was freedom of choice. Don't like it don't go to a show. Don't buy anymore records. Get on me all you want but that's how I feel.

Amazon.co.uk has the new songs for individual download, that's where I got them from. Doesn't .com do that too? :(

You can get nice pictures of Jon smiling on the internet. Besides, if they included Jon smiling in the promos, that would cost an extra dollar.

Kudo to them for making the songs available as individual downloads. I know I don't have to buy anything anyone puts out ... but I keep on doing it anyway.
;)
