Nov. 10 THANK YOU!!
First of all a great big thank you to Marc for selling me that extra ticket.
I would also like to thank Kathleen, Paul, Katherine, Terri and Deb. It was a pleasure meeting you guys and it was very gracious of you to include me in your dinner plans! I had a great time. The concert was awesome. Jon and Richie were incredible. It would have been nice if they would have included another new song but I'm not complaining. I really enjoying hearing "What Do You Got"; the more I hear it, the more I like it. I thought the crowd was really into it too (I read on another post that the crowd wasn't). Even that annoying mother next to me with her young son (she put him on her shoulders and they kept bumping into me which caused me to bump into Kathleen) didn't deter me from having a great time! Thanks again!! Nina |

We all had a blast. We did NOT wait in line for hours - we went out to dinner and had a couple of drinks (some of us did anyway) and then we went to the show. We weren't first row but we were in the (very small) building and just enjoyed the show. A fantastic evening in my opinion - I'd do it again tomorrow.
It was great meeting you Nina - perhaps we will meet again at MSG or even Philly. Ya really missed out Marc. |
It was great to meet you, Nina! I'm so glad that you were able to join us for dinner and the show.

awwww - I LOVE the smiles :)
yeah i watched a lot of it....they totally rock live... am i missing out...maybe.... just not settling for this anymore....this last tour was ridiculous with the setlists, they didnt even play the new songs and the GH tour, well please....heres hoping for a a backlog surprise... and they sound awesome - im very concerned its just lazy or over-controlled... (maybe it really is the lighting that they think is so important or something seeing that these last 2 and madrid shos but really that is a gross error if so...) either way im totally out - theyve lost me live right now - love the music but im out for vanilla liveness* *again - will attend the very last night of the tour where they will play one semi-rare song that will excite me:) persepctive... (pssst...JBJ - when TBC release the run below as a flac or mp3 or even cd boxset for $60 bux i will buy it because of the all the different songs...) just learned this...from another poster the Black Crowes over 5 nights in the same venue last week (Best Buy Theater)... I was curious and here are my results: That is (by my count ): - 114 songs played in total - 90 different songs played - 64 originals - 50 covers all songs in alphabetical order (if they were played more than once the number of times played is in parentheses: (Only) Halfway To Everywhere A CONSPIRACY And The Band Played On Another Roadside Tragedy Appaloosa BALLAD IN URGENCY (3) BEEN A LONG TIME (WAITING ON LOVE) Better When You're Not Alone Bring On, Bring On Cold Boy Smile Cosmic Friend CURSED DIAMOND Darling of Underground Press DON’T DO IT DOWNTOWN MONEY WASTER (2) Drivin' Wheel East Virginia Blues EVIL EYE EXIT Fearless FEATHERS Fork In The River Garden Gate Girl From A Pawnshop Give Peace A Chance Go Tell The Congregation God's Got It Good Friday Goodbye Daughters Of The Revolution (2) GREASY GRASS RIVER Hard To Handle (2) High Head Blues Hot Burrito #1 Hot Burrito #2 Hotel Illness How Much For Your Wings? I love you Marc and the Crowes but I just think the expectation for Bon Jovi to be like them in terms of setlists is unrealistic. No one goes to the Black Crowes expecting to hear hits because, let's be honest, they don't have that many. They are to me, very much a jam band and that's why they can get away with playing what they want.
I do think Jon could throw in some rare songs, like 2 or 3, for us diehards and multiple show attendees and probably not lose the masses. I can't answer why he doesn't but while I may get bored with the setlists, Jon's not making me go to 15+ shows a leg, I'm choosing to do that. |

how many HITS are we really talking about... and then lets think how many HITS they DONT play... I would venture that at least HALF the concert could be hits and the other HALF could be popular songs with some rarities thrown in... i would probably go IF THEY JUST PLAYED SOME DIFFERENT SONGS each night - even if they switched some hits and popular songs up a bit... they just DONT - they used to up until this tour even - dont get me wrong - its been steadily getting worse...but this tour is ridiculous imo... i will not support it any more right now - so im choosing not to - and youd have to really line people up to have a die-hard-off - i am shocked i feel so strongly but this is just wrong - if i wanted to see broadway i would go to memphis - which we still need to do! :) the band is on fire the catalog is huge there arent that many songs that are such big hits they HAVE to be played this is even more highlighted by the fact that they dont regularly play some of their BIGGEST hits the shows are almost EXACTLY the same... the only thing now is if you get a good performance or a great performance of the SAME SHOW i choose to protest. and to be honest i think i will unfortunately listen to the catalog less, though i still will as i love it but to know i will NEVER hear 99% of the songs live EVER is a huge turn-off for me. its a waste... when i personally spoke to JBJ about this i thought he got it. :) I guess ill have to speak with him again...and explain i wasnt just referencing Hawaii... i think ive stated my case enough on this bored :) and i can see brian rolling his eyes so i wont bring it up anymore i would just say think about it a little...it wont matter anyway they know what they are doing but it matters some - i know casuals who dont go anymore... love to all :) and to jovi who hopefully when they come back will have a difference frame of mind in 2014! my peace |
