Glastonbury?

Sounds like they are angling for an invite rather than anything being in place. Quote:

Aloha !
Translation: "If big acts like Bruce and McCartney play Glastonbury then I have to be part of that group as well as I'd like to think of myself as one of the big shots. If I don't join that league no one will take me serious as an artist. And I want to be taken serious, so please please please please please please invite me!" "I didn't play Wembley because my promoter still hasn't sorted their deal with the construction company years ago. I was supposed to open the venue, remember? It was a great deal to me back then and I actually can't wait to be back there, but for now I'll pretend Hyde Park is of much bigger importance to me, even though I suck at playing at open fields as my hayfever might show up. And now that I can't play Wembley I have to look for other opportunities that will make people think I'm bigger than ever, while everyone knows that's not true." The "When he was beautiful" rocker adds: "I rarely walk to concerts anyway, I always take a cab as I'm very much aware that fans want to talk to me and have their picture taken with me. I don't like that though, because I know many fans aren't too happy with what I play or what I've released but I can't say that so I'll give it my own twist and pretend that I actually enjoy walking through London, while all I do on tour is be miserable and stay in my hotel room playing CEO. By the way, did you know that my company has been going for 25 years?" Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |

Yeah that translation is pretty spot on, especially the bit about "Oh yeah I could sell out Wembley but chose not to". Yeah, of course!

Like his latest revelation about Alec leaving the band, because HE wanted to quit the music business, my gosh! Jon is getting older and forgetful or getting bolder  |
Glastonbury won't touch them.
I used to be close to the main booker for the biggest festival in Scotland and asked him if they'd ever have Jovi play, he laughed and said not to be ridiculous because they weren't legit enough to do a festival like his and it's a lot more commericalised in its approach to bands than Glasto. He sounds like a complete arse with the comment about walking to the gig. |
You have to take into account that these statements originate from an interview in the Daily Star "newspaper" which can only be described as toilet paper.
Alot of these quotes could be completely out of context. |
