your first Jovi concert?

my first Jovi concert was an accident. i wanted to see Dan Reed Network and had no idea nor cared about who those other dudes were ;) my parents only let me go because the venue was practically across the road from my house, so my uncle got tickets and took me.

thanks Seb for the correct setlist ;)

Cascais, Nov. 29th 1989, NJ Tour
the setlist was pretty short but full of goodies

i don't remember much of it, being only 10. i knew Prayer and that was all. i didn't even know they were the guys who sang it. it was a sold out show and the ticket cost 2.500 escudos, that's roughly €12.50. imagine how many shows back then you could attend for the price of 1 ticket now :D

Aloha !

Your setlist is in the wrong order and is missing a few songs. :)

Anyway, my first concert was on the One Wild Night tour. I wasn't into concerts at all and didn't have any knowledge as to buying tickets. I wanted to go on the Crush tour but they advertised it as sold out so I couldn't go. A year later I corrected the mistake and got a killer setlist.

I just got into the band with Crossroads in 94, and missed out on getting tickets for the Crossroads/These Days tours. Then we had the hiatus and I was going to do the JBJ solo gig at The Forum, but my GCSE English Exam was the next day so couldn't go, and instead spent the night cribbing notes on Lord Of The Flies.

My first ever concert was, pleasantly, a Richie solo show, night 1 of Shepherds Bush Empire in 1998. I went all on my todd as no-one wanted to go with me :(
But it was a great night, even more so when Jon came on and joined Richie for the last couple of songs.

Setlist for that one:

Shepherds Bush Empire, London, 22nd July 1998
1. Made In America
2. If God Was A Woman
3. Stranger In This Town
4. Fallen From Graceland
5. Bad Medicine
6. I'll Be There For You
7. The Answer
8. You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away
9. In It For Love
10. Undiscovered Soul
11. Papa Was A Rollin' Stone
12. Hard Times Come Easy
13. Midnight Rider
14. Wanted Dead Or Alive
15. Get Back
16. Livin' On A Prayer
17. With A Little Help From My Friends w/JBJ
18. Never Say Goodbye w/JBJ

For the first band gig, it was the first night at Wembley Stadium 2000. Glad I got to go to the iconic stadium before it shut down, and really enjoyed my first ever taste of a stadium gig. I remember it being a great gig, and was well into Crush at the time, as well as hearing everything else live for the first time in the flesh, although I remember the acoustic Runaway was a bit disappointing for me at the time, I would grow to appreciate it more later.

Setlist:

Wembley Stadium, London 19th August 2000

1. London Calling
2. Livin' On A Prayer
3. You Give Love A Bad Name
4. Captain Crash & The Beauty Queen From Mars
5. Say It Isn't So
6. One Wild Night
7. Born To Be My Baby
8. It's My Life
9. Runaway (acoustic)
10. Bed Of Roses
11. I Got The Girl
12. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
13. Wild In The Streets
14. Just Older
15. Lay Your Hands On Me
16. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
~ Rockin' All Over The World
17. Bad Medicine
18. Shout
19. Two Story Town
20. Blood On Blood
21. Wanted Dead Or Alive
22. Next 100 Years
23. Keep The Faith

That started my addiction, with went from being 1 gig for the next few tours to multiple gigs around the country!

I loved that Manchester gig, my favourite on that tour despite the ropey windy weather! As soon as they started with Prayer I knew we were in for a treat!

My first was on the Lost Highway tour, January 25, 2008 in Perth. In hindsight I suppose it was kind of average and they were very clearly rushing to make curfew but I still loved pretty much every minute of it. (I say "pretty much" because of ILTT which is not only horrendous, as soon as they started playing it I knew the show was about to end:p).

My first show was during the Lost Highway Tour in Randers, Denmark. The show was on a big open field, so it was kinda cool to see the band in this environment, and not in a big stadium. Before This Ain't a Love Song Jon even commented " Look at this beautiful place you've got hear, this beautiful sky. The sun still shine bright at ten o clock at night. It's a beautiful place and I'm happy to be here. " Man it really felt like it came from the bottom of his heart, really mighty.

Anyway, the set list was amazing. I'm still today a bit chocked I got to hear This Ain't a Love Song live for the first time in 12 years. And it sounded so damn good, it's madness they don't play it more often. Also got Undivded, the last time it was ever played so far and got to say that Jon sounded great on it, better than both Bounce and HAND tour.

Always got the best crowd reaction of the night. The crowd went mad, never seen anything like it. Before Wanted Jon wanted to start Fever, but Huey didn't know the song so he went over and tried to teach him the song, but Huey just couldn't knock the song out ! Finally they got through the entire Fever. Really funny :D

Oh god, this post maybe got a little to long. But it was an amazing experience ! Truly fantastic :D

Twickenham, night one. 27th June 2008. Solid setlist, obviously no serious rarities. However, getting 'Blaze'/'Diamon Ring'/'Always'/'Dry County in my first show - couldn't have asked for more. Was just a little disappointed the fascination with 'Hallelujah' was still in full swing here. ;) I really liked the show and thought it was pretty good but others thought it was rather poor. Oh well.

Stafford Bingley Hall 1984 October 12TH iirc, supporting KISS.

As headliners I saw them on the 7800 tour at Birmingham Odeon 21 MAY 1985.

Just noticed on the archives site about the London show in 85. It says the pa blew out twice, I used to have a bootleg tape of that show and according to JBJ onstage that night the power kept getting cut by the venue management because Bon Jovi were too loud! The second time it happened JBJ came onstage with an acoustic guitar and played without amps.

My first concert was at Central Park 2008. Found out that day I was going. Someone my hubby knew had 2 tix that he no longer wanted. Dropped everything, got my butt on a train, was about 15 ft from the stage. I was thrilled they played blaze of glory. I was on cloud 9 for weeks after that!
