So what happens?

hey all, im a concert virgin and im going to see Bon Jovi in Manchester in June. i was just wondering what happens in an open stadium event like this, ive got (well bought, havent received yet) Gold circle tickets,

do i have to be there 12 hours early to get a decent spot or just an few hours before?

whats the chances of my getting good video footage from a gold circle standing point (with a 78x optical zoom camcorder)?

How long before concert time is soundchecks?

if theres any other tips you can give me then its much appreciated :D

You can turn up as late as you like and the worst you will be is at the back of the gold circle, which is still in front of the general admission. Either way its behind the Diamond Circle. But you will still get some very good photos or films from anywhere in the gold circle.

Most of all - just go with an open mind and ENJOY the show. It's one of the best live shows around. Since you haven't seen a million shows (like some of us here who bitch about the setlists), everything will be new and different for you so enjoy the experience.

I will enjoy it whatever happens!

Also - try not to take too much video. Or none at all. I filmed part of my first Bon Jovi concert and it ruined a lot of the fun. Try to take photos during the songs you don't like as much. There will ALWAYS be people taking video that you can watch later on youtube. Just enjoy yourself.

This. It's pointless to take out your camera during Bad Name because the crowd response is awesome. Last time I checked sound doesn't come across well on pictures. Take pictures when no one is doing so, chances are you get better shots anyway because there are no arms in the way.

I don't know about that. I got some very good shots during Bad Name. And I got some really fun shots during Raise Your Hands by making the hands and arms a part of the photos. About the only time I truly give up is during the damn "alrights" in Who Says. :p
